Tyrice Knight took some time to answer questions on a conference call with Seahawks media on Saturday.

Last Chance U

Coming out of high school, Knight wasn't highly recruited and had offers from Samford, USF and Bowling Green State. He went to Independence Community College in Kansas and spent 2018-19 with the team. And if the name of the college sounds relatively familiar, you might have watched the Netflix TV series, 'Last Chance U', where the college was featured while Knight was a player on the team. The TV series documented the team's season when Knight was in his first season with the Pirates.

FBS Leader

Last season, Knight led all FBS players in solo tackles with 84. Along with that, he was named first-team All-Conference USA last season with 140 total tackles, including a team-leading 15.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, seven passes defensed and a forced fumble.

UTEP Alum

When the Seahawks drafted Knight, they made him the first defensive player since 2008 to be drafted from the University of El Paso at Texas. Before that, defensive back Quintin Demps was drafted by the Eagles. After Knight's senior season and his Reese's Senior Bowl performance, he started to get more looks from NFL scouts.

Grill Master

When he's not on the football field, Knight says that he like to spend time cooking, whether that's in the kitchen or outside on the grill. "If I cook inside, I'll cook a full course meal. If I cook outside it's just grilled food, chicken, steak, whatever my friends feel like eating."
