The Seahawks made a series of roster moves four days before the start of NFL free agency, terminating the veteran contract of tight end Zach Miller (failed physical), waiving defensive tackle Jesse Williams and offensive tackle Garrett Scott, and signing defensive end Greg Scruggs to a one-year deal.

Miller was entering the final year of his contract and coming off serious ankle surgery he underwent after landing on injured reserve during the team's bye week last season. He originally signed as a free-agent ahead of the 2011 season after four years with the Oakland Raiders. With the Seahawks, Miller recorded 102 catches for 1,092 yards and eight touchdowns in 48 games (46 starts) through the past four seasons.

Williams, a fifth-round draft choice of the Seahawks in 2013, spent his only two NFL seasons on injured reserve (knee). Scott, selected in the sixth-round of last year's draft by the Seahawks, was waived with a non-football illness designation after a rare heart condition put his football future in jeopardy last July. Scott spent this past year watching Seahawks practice from the sideline.

Scruggs, a restricted free agent, signs on for his fourth season with the Seahawks. He was a seventh-round pick by Seattle in 2012 and had two sacks his rookie year, but knee injuries forced him to spend 2013 and the majority of 2014 on injured reserve.
