Thursday Round-Up: Bobby Wagner Makes Pitch To Appear In Next Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movie

A daily link round-up of what's "out there" about your Seattle Seahawks

!

Good morning, 12s.

Here's a look at what's "out there" for today - Thursday, May 28 - about your Seattle Seahawks:

Turtle Power

Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner, who earned first-team All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors last year, was unveiled at No. 69 on NFL Network's countdown of the Top 100 Players of 2015 last night.

It's the first time Wagner has appeared on the network's list, rankings that were established by NFL players regardless of position. He's the second Seahawk to make this year's countdown, with defensive end Michael Bennett coming in at No. 90 two weeks ago.

Wagner joined NFL Network to talk about his rank after the show aired. The crew also got into the linebacker's love for all things Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Wagner's favorite turtle is Raphael and he even totes around a turtle shell backpack in the Seattle locker room.

The TMNT franchise has another film coming out in the summer of 2016. That's when Wagner hopes to make his big-screen debut.

"I know they've got a movie coming out, so I'm talking to all the producers, just watching," Wagner told NFL Network. "I don't have to have a role or nothing, just let me walk by the screen one or two times in the movie and that'd be great."

Wagner's thought process is he'll start small and work his way toward a feature role. But the NFL's Top 100 talent pushed Wagner to make a pitch for a more prominent part.

"I'm one of the biggest fans in the world," Wagner said. "I know everything that they know, probably, if not, more. So I could even help them put the movie together. I'll make their lives that much easier."

Seahawks Safeties One Of NFL's 'Scariest' Position Groups

Bucky Brooks at NFL.com has put together a photo essay ranking the Top 10 'scariest position groups' in the NFL and the Seahawks' safety position comes in at No. 5.

On the 'Legion of Boom' defensive backfield headed by strong safety Kam Chancellor and free safety Earl Thomas, Brooks writes, "The 'Legion of Boom' is unquestionably the backbone of the Seahawks' suffocating defense. The secondary sets the tone with airtight coverage and 'bang-bang' hits, particularly between the hashes. Thus, the Kam Chancellor-Earl Thomas safety tandem deserves mention as one of the most feared groups in the NFL. Thomas is the ultimate center-field safety with his extraordinary instincts, awareness and range. He protects his aggressive cornerbacks with his ability to float over the top, yet it is his superb communication that keeps the 'LOB' in line. Chancellor is the menacing force every team covets in the middle of the field. Measuring 6-foot-3 and 232 pounds, he's a 'thumper' capable of snuffing out runners in the hole or receivers venturing over the middle of the field. The big-bodied box safety is the perfect complement to Thomas."

Tweet Of The Day

Today's "Tweet of the Day" comes from Seahawks free safety Earl Thomas, who sends well wishes to Seahawks defensive tackle Jesse Williams as he readies to undergo kidney surgery today. Williams was recently diagnosed with Papillary Type 2 cancer.
