ESPN's Most-Famous Athletes List Includes Russell Wilson and Marshawn Lynch

The Seahawks are one of three teams with multiple players on ESPN's most-famous list.

One current and one former Seahawk have made ESPN's list of the world's 100 most-famous athletes.

Quarterback Russell Wilson checks in at No. 49 and retired running back Marshawn Lynch ranks at No. 61, the only running back to crack the list.

The index was put together by ESPN director of sports analytics Ben Alamar, who used a formula combining salary, endorsements, social media following, and web search popularity to determine one's level of fame.

Just four NFL players rank ahead of Seattle's Wilson on the list, with Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton coming in at No. 32, retired NFL quarterback Peyton Manning at No. 38, New York Giants wideout Odell Beckham Jr. at No. 40, and New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees at No. 44.

The Seahawks are one of three NFL teams with multiple players on the most-famous list. The Giants, with Beckham at No. 40 and quarterback Eli Manning at No. 66, and the New England Patriots, with quarterback Tom Brady at No. 52 and tight end Rob Gronkowski at No. 72, are the others.

On October 5, 2010, the Seahawks acquired Marshawn Lynch and in his nine years in the NFL Lynch has made some truly spectacular plays, rightfully earning the nickname Beast Mode.
