After missing the first game of his NFL career this past weekend, breaking a streak of 118 consecutive games played including postseason, free safety Earl Thomas (hamstring) was back on the practice field for the Seahawks, fully participating in Wednesday's workout ahead of Seattle's Week 13 Sunday Night Football matchup against the Carolina Panthers at CenturyLink Field. Head coach Pete Carroll said earlier Wednesday that Thomas' status is "day-to-day" this week, meaning his availability for this weekend's game won't be determined until later in the week.
Also returning to practice in full for the Seahawks was center Justin Britt (ankle), who missed this past weekend's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and defensive end Michael Bennett (knee), who's missed the team's past five games while rehabbing an injury that required arthroscopic surgery. Carroll said if Britt and Bennett make it through the week of practice, both should be on track to play against the Panthers.
Limited for Seattle on Wednesday was cornerback DeShawn Shead (hamstring) and running back Troymaine Pope, each of whom missed this past weekend's game at Tampa Bay.
Sitting out on Wednesday were tight end Jimmy Graham (knee), who in recent weeks has routinely received Wednesdays off to rest the knee he had surgically repaired last year, running back C.J. Prosise (shoulder), wideout Paul Richardson (hamstring), tight end Luke Willson (knee), linebacker Brock Coyle (foot), defensive end Damontre Moore (foot), and linebacker Jordan Tripp (thigh). Richardson and Tripp represent injuries that Carroll hasn't mentioned this week, and more on the pair's status should come as the week rolls on.
Wednesday's report also marks the first time since Week 2 where Russell Wilson has not been listed, a strong indicator that the Seahawks quarterback who's dealt with ankle, knee, and pectoral injuries this season is about as close as one can get to full health at this time of year.
The Panthers, meanwhile, were without several starters on Wednesday, with wideout Kelvin Benjamin (shoulder), safety Kurt Coleman (concussion), linebacker Luke Kuechly (concussion), and offensive tackle Daryl Williams (ankle) all sitting out to open the work week.
