Tumwater High School's Sid Otton, a flag football team and two Punt, Pass & Kick finalists will attend and compete at this year's Pro Bowl.

RENTON, Wash. - The Seattle Seahawks announced today other local representatives who will attend and compete at this year's Pro Bowl in Orlando in addition to the seven Seahawks players, including:  DE Cliff Avril, WR Doug Baldwin, DE Michael Bennett, TE Jimmy Graham, CB Richard Sherman,  LB Bobby Wagner, and LB K.J. Wright.

Sid Otton, retired Tumwater high school football coach, is the Seahawks nominee for the Don Shula NFL High School Coach of the Year Award.  Named the 2016 High School Coach of the Year for Washington State, Otton retired as the winningest football coach after a 49-year career.  Otton's teams achieved a state-record 394 wins and six state championships (five at Tumwater; he also coached at Colfax and Coupeville).  The Don Shula NFL High School Coach of the Year Award honors an exemplary football coach at the high school level who displays the integrity, achievement, and leadership demonstrated by Coach Shula.  For the first time, all of the nominees will be honored and participate in Pro Bowl week events, and the winner of the national award will be announced during the Pro Bowl game at Camping World Stadium.

As part of the on-going effort to grow NFL Flag, the Seahawks selected a local youth team to participate in the 13-14 year-old boys division of the 2017 NFL FLAG Championships. Coached by Seahawks Legend Sam Adams, the Seattle Ravens play in the Northwest Premier Jr. Football League in south Seattle.  The championships will take place January 27-29 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort.  Sixty-four (64) teams from across the country - eight regional champions in four divisions plus 32 at-large teams - will compete in the tournament. NFL Pro Bowl players and Legends will serve as guest coaches, encouraging the teams as they compete for the national title. The 13-14 Boys Championship Game will air on ESPN on Sunday, Jan. 29 as part of the network's broadcast of the Pro Bowl at Camping World Stadium.

Two local youth have qualified to compete in the NFL Punt, Pass & Kick National Championship including  Casey Canonica (14-15 boys) from Tacoma and Brynna Nixon (12-13 girls) from Bonney Lake.  They will compete along with the top four boys and top four girls in each age division (6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-13, and 14-15) in this premiere skills competition on the national stage at Pro Bowl on Friday, Jan. 27 at ESPN Wide World of Sports.
