The Seahawks picked their second receiver of the 2017 draft, selecting David Moore from East Central University in Oklahoma with one of their two seventh-round picks.
Moore, who is 6-foot, 219 pounds, had 57 catches for 878 yards and 10 touchdowns as a senior, a year after he set a school record with 13 receiving touchdowns and had 1,079 receiving yards.
Moore said that as a player at a Division II school, he wasn't expecting to be drafted, so getting the call from Seattle was "like a dream come true. I didn't know what to do. I wasn't expecting it, honestly."
A big receiver with excellent speed, Moore was on Seattle's radar even at a small school. He noted that he had "talked to Seattle a lot," meeting with midlands area scout Aaron Hineline.
"I talked to Seattle a lot," Moore said. "They were one of the first teams to come and scout me in my senior year. From the beginning (Hineline) told me, 'you're going to be a Seahawk."
Asked to describe himself as a player, Moore said, "A hard-working player, a player that loves to win, wants to win. A real competitor. I love to compete."
