Doug Baldwin, Tyler Lockett Among Seahawks Not Expected To Play In Preseason Opener At Chargers

Receivers Doug Baldwin and Tyler Lockett are among a list of Seahawks not expected to play in Sunday night's preseason opener against the Los Angeles Chargers.

CARSON, Calif.—The Seahawks will open preseason play Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers with a handful of players not suited up, including two of their top receivers.

Tyler Lockett, who has resumed practicing after opening training camp on the physically unable to perform list, will be held out of Sunday's game, as will Doug Baldwin, who sustained what Seahawks coach Pete Carroll described as a minor foot strain in practice Thursday. Rookie receiver Amara Darboh is also listed as not expected to play.

With several receivers unavailable, the Seahawks added depth at that position Saturday by re-signing Rodney Smith, who opened camp with the team before being waived on Aug. 3. Smith, 27, spent time on Seattle's practice squad last season, then signed a future contract in January. Defensive end Shaneil Jenkins was waived to make room on the 90-man roster, and has since been claimed off waivers by the Green Bay Packers.

Here's the full list of Seahawks not expected to play:
