SEATTLE, Wash. — Following the Seahawks' 12-9 Week 2 win over the San Francisco 49ers at CenturyLink Field, Pete Carroll met with the media and shared a few injury updates about his team.
Here's some of what the Seattle head coach had to say:
- Paul Richardson caught the game-winning touchdown for the Seahawks in the fourth quarter, but Carroll revealed the receiver scored while playing with a dislocated finger. "He dislocated his finger and really it was one of those ones that was compound," Carroll said. "So he had to get it all sewn up and went back in and caught a touchdown pass with it. Good stuff." Carroll said he doesn't expect the injury to linger for Richardson moving forward. "I don't think so, because he came back and played," he said. "So I think he's OK."
- Cornerback Neiko Thorpe left the game in the first half with an ankle injury and did not return. "He did sprain his ankle. It's a lateral sprain," Carroll said. "X-rays were OK and all that, but I don't know how to report on that other than that."
- Tight end Jimmy Graham briefly went down in the second quarter with an injury to his knee. Graham was able to walk off the field under his own power and did return to the game. "He banged his knee," Carroll said. "That's what I know. He was OK, I heard."
