Seahawks Announce The Week Two CenturyLink High School Athlete Of The Week

SEATTLE and RENTON, Wash.- The Seattle Seahawks, CenturyLink, Inc. (NYSE: CTL) and Q13 FOX (KCPQ) announced Madison Egan of Rogers High School as the week two CenturyLink High School Athlete of the Week. Madison will be recognized on the field at CenturyLink Field during the October 29 game vs. the Houston Texans.

Madison, a junior at Rogers High School, was selected Athlete of the Week based on her leadership through athletics, academics, and community action. She holds a 3.95 GPA and has been a member of the National Honor Society for the past five years. Community service is important to Madison, she volunteers her time every summer at a summer basketball camp for kids and also spends several hours a month helping at Mt. View Lutheran Church in Edgewood at their community center. Each fall she joins efforts with her Grandfather, assembling Christmas boxes for those in need at Mt. View Lutheran Church. Madison runs cross country, and plays basketball and tennis for Rogers High School. She has been voted team captain by her teammates in all three sports. Madison was named the Athlete of the Year from Rogers three times by the Tacoma Athletic Commission for her outstanding achievement for citizenship, scholarship and athletic ability.

Each student athlete will be recognized at his or her school in front of families, peers and teachers, as well as at a Seahawks game. Each winner will also receive a $1,000 grant to their school's Athletic Department from the Seahawks along with media recognition, tickets and sideline passes to a Seahawks game, a customized football, and a customized 2017 Seahawks jersey. A total of $10,000 will be awarded to high schools over the course of the program.

Madison takes her academics very seriously and has maintained a 3.95 GPA after two years of high school. She has received six outstanding scholastic awards from the WIAA and has been a member of the National Honor Society for the past 5 years.

Community:

She has been voted by her teammates in all three sports to be the captain of all three of her teams as a junior. Madison has organized many team bonding events, team dinners and team fundraisers in all three of her sports and plans to keep it coming for another two years at Rogers High.
