Injury Updates From Pete Carroll's Week 4 Monday Press Conference

Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll shares injury updates on Dewey McDonald, Doug Baldwin, Rees Odhiambo, and C.J. Prosise during his Monday press conference.

A day after the Seahawks' 33-27 loss to the Titans in Tennessee, head coach Pete Carroll shared a few injury updates on Seattle players. Here's some of what Carroll said Monday at Virginia Mason Athletic Center:

  • Linebacker and special teams standout Dewey McDonald, who exited the game after going down with a knee injury on the opening kickoff, has an injury to his ACL. "I don't have the last word of it, but he does have an ACL injury," Carroll said. "To the extent of it, I don't know, but it is serious." Carroll went on to add that McDonald injured his knee a couple years ago and clarified that this most recent setback is to McDonald's opposite knee.
  • Carroll said Doug Baldwin came out of yesterday's game at Nissan Stadium with a groin strain. "We'll see what that means," Carroll said of Baldwin's availability for the Seahawks' Week 4 game against the Indianapolis Colts. "We don't know what that means for the week at this point."
  • Carroll said left tackle Rees Odhiambo and running back C.J. Prosise each had their ankles examined today. More information on the pair's status should become available when the Seahawks release their first practice report of the week on Wednesday afternoon.
  • For the Colts, who Seattle hosts on Sunday night at CenturyLink Field, quarterback Andrew Luck has been ruled out as he continues to recover from the shoulder surgery he underwent this past offseason. That means the Seahawks can expect to see second-year signal caller Jacoby Brissett under center as each team looks to improve to .500 this weekend.
