Steven Hauschka is probably the only guy who watches one episode of a Netflix series at a time. He's currently into "Narcos," and while the drug cartel drama is certainly addictive, he's never watched even two episodes back to back.
"I don't think so, no. Maybe one and a half," he said. "We're pretty busy, so by the time we sit down it's like, 8 o'clock, and then got go to bed at 9:30 or 10."
Discipline. It's not a bad quality in a professional athlete.
So what else is he watching in reasonable doses? Read on for our list of 12 things you (probably) don't know about the veteran Seahawks kicker.
1. He's a fan of "Vice" on HBO.
Hauschka: "That's a really good one. It's half-hour documentaries, they're really intriguing. Like one episode, they interviewed a terrorist bomber in Afghanistan. He's a teenager. ... It gives you a good sense of what's going on in the world, and makes you feel pretty fortunate to live here in Seattle."
2. He's a dog person.
Hauschka: "I have two of them. A Pug-Chihuahua mix and an Australian Shepherd-Poodle mix. They're both 15-pound dogs. [The pug] is ugly, yeah he's an ugly guy. His name is Jack. Now Bee, she's awesome. Jack is awesome, too, he's just a little bit of a handful."
3. He's not so good at the Twitter.
Hauschka: "I have used Twitter. I have one tweet. It was a great tweet, it just said I'm not going to be on Twitter, basically. I'm more visual than I am a writer."
4. He's better at Instagram.
Hauschka: "I had a private Instagram for a while, and now I made a public one. … Dogs, shoes, beautiful pictures of Seattle, kicking, Greek yogurt, salmon. I love salmon and … peaches. Not together. I love fruit and I love seafood, especially up here."
5. He listens to Incubus, but not on purpose.
Hauschka: "My phone broke recently – the touch screen stopped working. So it was stuck on this random playlist on Spotify, and it kept playing all this late '90s, early 2000s music. So I was listening to, like, Incubus. … I did like Incubus when I was younger."

6. In related news, he could use some new music recommendations.
Hauschka: "I'm kind of looking for new music right now because I need something. Several times a year, I like to find new music, but I'm too lazy to make playlists most of the time." [Ed note: Hey music fans, hit up Hauschka on Twitter! Uh, never mind.]
7. His favorite movie is "The Shawshank Redemption."
Hauschka: "I think it's a cool story. I just like thinking about what you'd do for that long in prison. It's kind of a mental movie, if you think about it. What would you do to occupy your time to prove that you were a changed man?"

8. He was almost a dentist.
Hauschka: "I applied to dental school and I had to decide whether to try to keep playing football or go to dental school. I obviously chose football. … I do [care about dental health], but I'm not a flosser. My wife gives me a hard time for that."
9. He loves the beach.
Hauschka: "I love seeing beaches around the world. The beaches in Hawaii are amazing. So are the ones in Costa Rica."
10. He was a caddie and a soccer ref.
Hauschka: "I also was a summer camp instructor. I did a bunch of odd jobs like that. I would work as a camp counselor at summer camps in high school in Boston. I also caddied because you made more money doing that, and I like golf. … I grew up playing soccer and lacrosse and played golf, too."
11. He keeps golf clubs in his trunk.
Hauschka: "I'm good for somebody who never played competitively. I'm a 6 handicap, or I was this year. But I can be better than that. I work hard at kicking, so I just like to play for fun during the offseason."
12. He feels strongly about kids' health.
"I think our country's going in the wrong direction there and I think business and what's best for our kids are two separate things. Because whatever's best for business is just going to be to keep pumping kids with these terrible foods that make them unhappy. … I think kids are getting sucked into their phones and not being taught proper lifestyle habits, like being active and having the tools to be able to succeed in the real world."
Kicker Steven Hauschka re-signed with the Seahawks on March 17, 2014.
