12 Things You (Probably) Don't Know About Seahawks Wide Receiver Doug Baldwin

How many of these things do you know about Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin?

Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin returns for his sixth NFL season with a new contract and a fiancée. But some things don't change: He's still as frugal as ever.

Baldwin's big splurge after signing a contract extension was three boxes of donuts – "one for my family and friends, and the other two for me" – and four bottles of celebratory sparkling apple juice.

Those earrings winking in his ears? They cost $9.99 at Target. (NFL players, they're just like us!)

Here are 12 more things you might not know about the Seahawks' veteran wideout:

1. He knows that marriage is about compromise.

Baldwin: "My fiancée has been doing most of the wedding planning. She makes it really simple on me, which is awesome. … One of the things was, I wanted a vanilla cake, so we had to compromise – part vanilla, part chocolate."

2. He's been watching a lot of "The Office" reruns lately.

Baldwin: "'The Office' is one of my favorite shows. In camp, everything is so serious, I need something to be a little more light and happy. 'The Office' always lifts me up."

2b. His favorite Michael Scott quote...

Baldwin "I'm not superstitious, but I am a little stitious."

3. He's not a fan of green beans.

Baldwin: "My mom tried to force me to eat green beans when I was younger, so not only do I not like the taste, I hate the memory of the green beans."

4. His bucket list includes a trip to The Last Frontier.

Baldwin: "I want to go to Alaska and fish. My grandfather used to take me fishing all the time when I was younger. … I've always seen stuff on TV about Alaska and fishing, so it's one of those things I want to do."

5. His favorite sport to watch is basketball.

Baldwin: "Hands down. Miami Heat is my favorite team. Dwyane Wade has been my favorite player since he came into the league."

6. His pet peeve is, uh, wait, can you repeat that?

Baldwin:"I can't stand it when people don't listen. I don't know why; I think it was instilled in me when I was younger that I had to listen. You know, I'm only going to get told once. If you don't hear it the first time, you're in trouble."

7. If there's a spider around, you're on your own.

Baldwin: "I cannot stand spiders. [If there's a spider in the house], I'll get my fiancée to go take care of it."

8. He has a nickname and it's not Angry Doug:

Baldwin: "Doug E. Fresh, from the '90s rapper."

9. He will beat you at Candyland no matter how old you are.

Baldwin: "I'm not good at not being competitive. When I'm trying to have fun with my little brother or my little niece and nephew and my cousins … if we're playing games, it's hard for me not to want to beat them."

10. He's kind of a sore loser.

Baldwin: "I think I would like to handle losing a little bit better. I would like to be able to move on from losing faster."

11. His favorite board game is Kill Doctor Lucky.

Baldwin: "It's kind of "Clue"-ish, a lot of strategy involved, especially if you have four or five people playing the game."

12. If he had a warning label, it would say:

Baldwin: "There are so many things that come to mind. … If I had a warning label, it would be: Don't worry, I don't bite."
