The NFL announced the schedule for the 2020 season on Thursday, a slate of games for the Seahawks that includes four prime-time contests, as well as a Week 6 bye. Here's a look at every game on Seattle's schedule.
Week 1: Sept. 13 at Atlanta Falcons, 10 a.m., FOX
The Seahawks play at Atlanta for the second year in a row, and will try to begin their 2020 season by continuing their 2019 road success, having gone a franchise-best 7-1 away from home last season.
Week 2: Sept. 20 New England Patriots, 5:20 p.m., NBC
The Patriots still have an all-time great coach in Bill Belichick, but for the first time in two decades, they'll have a quarterback not named Tom Brady leading the offense.
Week 3: Sept. 27 Dallas Cowboys, 1:25 p.m., FOX
A good early-season test for two NFC playoff hopefuls. This will be the fourth meeting, postseason included, between these teams since the 2017 season.
Week 4: Oct. 4 at Miami Dolphins, 10 a.m., FOX
Seattle's first trip to Miami since the sprinklers came on, mid-game, in 2012. Presuming he's the starter, this will be Seattle's first look at rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who before a season-ending injury at Alabama, was one of college football's most exciting players.
Week 5: Oct. 11 Minnesota Vikings, 5:20 p.m., NBC
The Seahawks host the Vikings in prime time for the third straight year after beating Minnesota on Monday Night Football each of the past two seasons.
Week 6: BYE
Week 7: Oct. 25 at Arizona Cardinals, 1:05 p.m., FOX
With quarterback Kyler Murray in year two and the addition of All-Pro receiver DeAndre Hopkins, the Cardinals hope to be one of the league's most improved teams in 2020. The Seahawks, meanwhile, hope to continue their winning ways in the desert, having gone 6-0-1 at Arizona dating back to 2013.
Week 8: Nov. 1 San Francisco 49ers, 1:25 p.m. FOX
The Seahawks and 49ers split a pair of thrillers in 2019, the latter of which decided the NFC West by a matter of inches. With both teams expecting to contend again, this midseason clash could be an early tone-setter in the division race.
Week 9: Nov. 8 at Buffalo Bills, 10 a.m., FOX:
Due to the 2012 contest being played in Toronto, this will be Seattle's first game in Buffalo since 2008 when a young running back named Marshawn Lynch helped lead the Bills to victory. Other than new stadiums opening this season, Russell Wilson will have played in every NFL stadium after this game.
Week 10: Nov. 15 at Los Angeles Rams, 1:25 p.m., FOX
Speaking of new stadiums, this will be the Seahawks' first look at SoFi Stadium, the new home of the Rams and Chargers.
Week 11: Nov. 19 (Thursday) Arizona Cardinals, 5:20 p.m., FOX/NFLN/Amazon
Playing on a short week is never ideal, but Seattle at least gets this one at home. On a less positive, note, Arizona has found success in Seattle just as the Seahawks have in Glendale, with the Cardinals winning four of their last five at CenturyLink Field.
Week 12: Nov. 30 (Monday) at Philadelphia Eagles, 5:15 p.m., ESPN
The Seahawks won at Philadelphia twice last season, once in the regular season and once in the Wild-Card round of the playoffs.
Week 13: Dec. 6 New York Giants, 1:05 p.m., FOX
Seattle has won four straight against the Giants dating back to 2011, but this version of the Giants will be quite a bit different than the team Seattle last saw in 2017. Not only do the Giants have a new head coach in Joe Judge, they've also overhauled their roster significantly, including replacing long-time quarterback Eli Manning last year.
Week 14: Dec. 13 New York Jets, 1:05 p.m., CBS
Must be a good deal on flights from Newark to Seattle in December, because the Jets follow their MetLife Stadium mates to Seattle a week later looking to end a three-game losing streak to the Seahawks.
Week 15: Dec. 20 at Washington Redskins, 10 a.m., FOX
In a rarity for the two teams, the Seahawks don't play the Panthers this year, but Seattle will face longtime Panthers coach Ron Rivera, who took over the job in Washington this offseason.
Week 16: Dec. 27 Los Angeles Rams, 1:05 p.m., CBS
The Rams are hoping to bounce back from a 9-7 season to get back in the playoffs, and if they're going to do that, this late-season NFC West clash could have big implications for both teams.
Week 17: Jan. 3 at San Francisco 49ers, 1:25 p.m., FOX
Last year these two teams decided the NFC West in Week 17. Both hope to be playing for a division title again this year, but this time the finale will take place in Santa Clara.
The NFL Network will air "Schedule Release '20," a three-hour show breaking down the NFL's entire 2020 season, beginning at 5 p.m. PT. The schedule will also be released on NFL.com and the NFL app.
