After using their first three picks on Day 3 of the draft on defensive players, the Seahawks turned to offense with their first of two seventh-round picks, selecting Rutgers receiver Bo Melton with the 229th overall pick.
Melton, who is 5-foot-11, 191 pounds, has been Rutgers' leading receiver each of the past three seasons, totaling 132 catches for 1,683 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also saw touches out of the backfield, including six carries for 69 yards and two scores in 2020.
In addition to his skills on offense, Melton was heavily involved on special teams at Rutgers, both as a returner and on coverage teams.
"I'm a very versatile player," he said. "I can be used everywhere. I can be used on special teams, wherever they need for me to be used at. Being versatile for them, being able to do a lot of things for the team."
