Chris Carson Among Inactives For Seahawks at Cardinals

The Seahawks will be without five players due to injury Sunday, including running back Chris Carson.

GLENDALE, Ariz.—The Seahawks will be without starting running back Chris Carson for Sunday's game at Arizona, the result of a hip injury sustained in last week's win over the Cowboys.

Carson, who carried 32 times for 102 yards and a touchdown last week, was listed as questionable Friday and hopeful he could play, but Seahawks coach Pete Carroll cautioned that the back would be a game-day decision.

"He just felt a little something and we just took it easy on him," Carroll said following Friday’s practice. "He had a bunch of carries last week and it warranted a little bit of a break. We've just got to make sure he's OK… We'll take it all the way to game time. He's thinking he's going, but we'll just make sure to guarantee it."

On a more positive note, running back C.J. Prosise is active after being listed as doubtful Friday due to an abdomen injury. With Carson out, expect rookie Rashaad Penny to have a big role in Sunday's game.

Carson is one of five players inactive Sunday due to injury, a list that also includes linebacker K.J. Wright, guard Ethan Pocic, and defensive ends Rasheem Green and Dion Jordan. With two defensive ends out, Branden Jackson figures to see significant playing time after being promoted off of the practice squad earlier in the week.

As expected, the Seahawks are getting Doug Baldwin back for this game after playing without the Pro-Bowl receiver in the past two games, the result of a knee injury he sustained early in Seattle's season-opening loss at Denver.
