TAMPA, Fla. — The Seahawks will be missing several starters for Sunday's game at Tampa Bay, including cornerback DeShawn Shead, who was listed as questionable for the game with a hamstring injury.
Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said Shead had a good workout Friday and would be a game-day decision, but he won't play, likely meaning Jeremy Lane will start with Neiko Thorpe serving as the third corner in nickel packages.
Brock Coyle, who had taken over the starting job at strongside linebacker, is also out after being listed as doubtful with a foot injury. The Seahawks are also without defensive starters Michael Bennett (knee) and Earl Thomas (hamstring), who had already been ruled out. Defensive end Damontre Moore, who was questionable with a foot injury, is also out.
For Thomas, this will be the first missed game in his seven-year NFL career. Prior to Sunday, Thomas had started 106 consecutive regular season games—118 including postseason—a franchise record for a defensive player. Steven Terrell is expected to make his first career start in Thomas' place.

Center Justin Britt, who was listed as questionable with an ankle injury, is active, but rookie Joey Hunt will start, general manager John Schneider said during a pregame radio interview on 710 ESPN Seattle. Britt did not practice during the week, and Carroll implied Friday that Britt would be active whether or not he starts, so Britt will serve as the backup center.
