Good morning, 12s. Here's a look at what's out there today – Friday, September 2 – about your Seattle Seahawks.

DK Metcalf & Michael Dickson Named to CBS Sports' Preseason All-NFC West Team

With the NFL season kicking off in 10 days for the Seattle Seahawks, anticipation is at a high. Jared Dubin and the CBS Sports team developed a preseason team for each NFL conference, revealing the NFC West division's roster. Two Seahawks make the cut - wide receiver DK Metcalf and punter Michael Dickson.

The roster is composed by position - offensive and defensive skill players, offensive line, defensive front, defensive backfield and specialists.

Fifth-year punter Michael Dickson is the Seahawks all-time leader in career yards per punt (47.4) and looking to grow. In July, John Breech of the CBS Sports team ranked Dickson the No.1 punter in the league coming into 2022. Dubin reveals that it was Breech's list that sparked the idea to choose Dickson.

"I won't lie," said Dubin. "I asked our resident kicking expert (John Breech) who he thinks are the best kickers and punters in each division, and copy/pasted those names onto each All-Division team."

Seahawks wideout DK Metcalf gets an explanation for why he's selected amongst a loaded NFC West at wideout, and why Dubin believes he'll shine this year.

"There were a lot of receiver options in this division," said Dubin. "Kupp, coming off a record-setting season, was a no-brainer. Beyond him, though, each of Samuel, Metcalf, Robinson, Brandon Aiyuk, Tyler Lockett, and even Hopkins (despite missing six games) has a good argument. Samuel's versatility makes him arguably the most unique player in the NFL at the moment, and even if his rushing volume decreases, the threat of him lining up in the backfield at any time is going to cause tremendous headaches. Metcalf seems like a better fit for the Geno Smith/Drew Lock era than does Lockett, who is unlikely to get as many of those moon-ball deep shots from those guys as he did from Russell Wilson."

Metcalf is one of only five wideouts to catch for over 3,000 yards and 25 touchdowns in his first three seasons, and CBS has taken notice.

Another superlative for two deserving Seattle Seahawks.
