The Seahawks practiced without quarterback Geno Smith for the second straight day, the result of an injury that head coach Mike Macdonald said happened in Tuesday's practice.
"He got banged up a little bit on Tuesday," Macdonald said after Thursday's practice.
Macdonald didn't specify the nature of the injury, but whatever it was, it was not one that kept Seattle's two-time Pro-Bowl quarterback from finishing that day's session. Macdonald said Smith will have more tests done on the injury Thursday evening.
"He's just working through a couple of things from the other day," Macdonald said. "He'll get some imaging tonight, and we'll see."
Asked if Smith would practice Friday, Macdonald said, "I don't know about tomorrow, but we'll see what comes out of it when he goes and sees the doc."
As for other Seahawks who missed practice, Macdonald said center Olu Oluwatimi is dealing with a triceps injury, "but we should see him here tomorrow."
Macdonald had no new update on defensive lineman Dre'Mont Jones, who has a hamstring injury, but said, "Still positive, but no update."
Outside linebacker Darrell Taylor was out Thursday with what Macdonald called a "lower body" injury, adding Taylor is, "working through some stuff."
Cornerback Michael Jackson was also sidelined Thursday, with Macdonald saying he was, "just nicked up right now, he had a couple of tests done. Not sure on the timetable."
Asked about right tackle Abraham Lucas, who is on the physically unable to perform list, Macdonald said there were no new updates.
The Seahawks practiced without pads on Wednesday afternoon and hosted the Blue Angels as special guests on July 31, 2024.
