One of the 12 undrafted rookie free agents the Seahawks agreed to terms with following the 2015 NFL Draft just so happens to be the half-brother of Seattle strong safety Kam Chancellor.
Keenan Lambert - a strong safety out of Norfolk State - and Chancellor share the same mother, Karen Lambert.
"I feel like a proud dad right about now," Chancellor captioned in a photo of Keenan on his Instagram account. "I watched him grow up right before my eyes and it's [truly] a blessing to not just be a testament to hard work but watch Hard work pay off.. We know what to do with opportunity so let God take the wheel and you shall manifest anything you put your mind too. (Literally LOB)."
The 6-foot-1, 215-pound Lambert joined Chancellor on the Seahawks' player-driven offseason workout program in the Hawaiian Islands last month. He racked up 206 tackles (10 for loss), 34 passes defensed, eight interceptions, four forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery through 47 games the past four years (2011-14) at Norfolk State.
Lambert, along with the eight members of the Seahawks' 2015 draft class and 11 others who agreed to terms as undrafted rookie free agents, is expected to join roughly 30 tryout players at Renton's Virginia Mason Athletic Center for a rookie minicamp this weekend. The players will compete in on-field workouts on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and meet with Seahawks coaches, staff, and personnel as they get their first taste of life in the NFL.
