Player And Coaching Connections
Cody White
The current Seahawks receiver got his start in the NFL with the Steelers. After finishing his career at Michigan State, in 2020, Cody White signed with Pittsburgh as an undrafted rookie. White spent most of his time on the Steelers' practice squad in 2020 and 2022. In 2021, he was signed to the active roster partway through the season and played in a total of 15 games. White then spent part of 2023 on Seattle's practice squad and then in 2024, after spending time on the practice squad, he was signed to the active roster. In four games, he had two catches for 44 yards and a blocked punt, the first blocked punt by a Seattle player since 2020. White is now part of the 53-man roster in 2025. Aside from playing for the Steelers, White's father, Sheldon is also the director of pro scouting for the Steelers, a position he's held since 2022.

This past offseason, DK Metcalf was traded to the Steelers. He was drafted by the Seahawks in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft, and Metcalf would go on to etch his name into the Seahawks' record books. In 2020, he set a franchise record 1,303 receiving yards, surpassing Steve Largent (1,287) and earned his first of two Pro Bowl nods. He was the third player in NFL history to reach 50 receptions, 900 yards and five touchdowns in each of his first five seasons (A.J. Green, Randy Moss).
