A day after Geno Smith left Sunday's game with a knee injury, Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald was asked about his quarterback during his weekly appearance on Seattle Sports 710AM.
While Macdonald is still awaiting test results and did not have a lot of specifics to offer, he did say that Smith sounded optimistic about the injury when the two exchanged texts Monday morning.
"He seemed optimistic this morning texting with him, so we've got that going for us," Macdonald said.
Macdonald later added that, as of now, there appears to be a possibility that Smith could play in this week's game against Minnesota.
Asked about his comments Sunday that "structurally it looks like it’s OK," Macdonald elaborated, saying, "They do the tests and all that type of stuff, and it just seemed like everything was intact. Then he had an X-ray, and there was nothing broken."
