Good afternoon, 12s.
Here's a look at what's "out there" for today - Monday, Oct. 26 - about your Seattle Seahawks:
Michael Bennett Earns Mention From The MMQB
Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett, who recorded a career-high 3.5 sacks in Seattle's 20-3 Week 7 win at the home of the San Francisco 49ers, is one of two players to earn NFL Defensive Player of the Week honors in Peter King's Monday Morning Quarterback column for TheMMQB.com.
On Bennett, King writes, "The San Francisco offensive line, which used to be good, got absolutely abused by the Seattle pass-rush Thursday night in the Seahawks' 20-3 victory. The primary abuser was the man New England thought was Seattle's best player entering Super Bowl 49, Bennett. He had 3.5 sacks Thursday night and appeared to thoroughly discombobulate Colin Kaepernick."
You can read the rest of King's Week 7 column right here and check out more comments from King on Seattle's Week 7 win below.
"So 3-4, that's a record that nobody in the Pacific Northwest is going to be very happy with, but I believe that there are two things that happened in the 20-3 victory in Week 7 over the 49ers that if I were a Seattle fan that I'd be pretty happy with. One is that finally the running game got going with a consistency with Marshawn Lynch and Thomas Rawls together that showed the kind of 1-2 punch these two guys can have the rest of the year. ... I have to believe also that the Seattle Seahawks have tightened up what they're doing in the defensive secondary particularly, they have a good pass rush, and I think their defense showed that they're going to be good enough if their offense can get it together consistently, their defense will be good enough to carry them into the playoffs."
