Pete Carroll: Tanner McEvoy "Questionable At Best" For Final Preseason Game; Jarran Reed and Nick Vannett Won't Play

Pete Carroll shared injury updates on Tanner McEvoy, Nick Vannett, Jarran Reed, and Sealver Siliga following Sunday's practice.

Tanner McEvoy was the Seahawks' one reported injury from this past Thursday night's 27-17 preseason win over the Cowboys, and following Sunday's "Bonus Day" workout at Virgina Mason Athletic Center, Seattle head coach Pete Carroll offered an update on the rookie receiver.

"He's got a groin thing," Carroll said of McEvoy, who had one catch for 43 yards against Dallas. "We're just going day to day on it right now. We really hope he can get back for the week, the ballgame. It's questionable at best right now."

Elsewhere on the injury front, Carroll said defensive tackle Jarran Reed (toe) tight end Nick Vannett (ankle) will not play in the team's final preseason game, a matchup with the Oakland Raiders that's set for 7 p.m. PT on Thursday, Sept 1. Carroll also suggested that both rookies could be questionable heading into the regular-season opener on Sept. 11 against the Miami Dolphins.

"Both those guys are not going to make it this week and it'll be a race against next week," Carroll said. "Jarran is ahead of Nick, I would say, but we've got to wait and see."

Defensive tackle Sealver Siliga, meanwhile, continues to work his way back from an offseason calf injury that has limited his play this preseason.

"He hasn't been able to make it back," Carroll said of Siliga, who was added in free agency during the spring. "He just has not been able to get healthy. This was an offseason calf injury that never went away. It's been very difficult to get a good evaluation."
