SEATTLEĀ -- John Schneider talked with 'Voice of the Seahawks' Steve Raible on the turf at CenturyLink Field moments before Seattle kicked off its third preseason game of 2016 against the Dallas Cowboys, one Schneider referred to as the "Catalina Wine Mixer."
Here's a couple pregame thoughts from the Seahawks general manager:
(On what he's looking for tonight..) "How guys are stepping up to challenges. We're playing against the best offensive line in the League tonight. We're getting Jordan Hill back and some guys. We want to see some good matchups, some good evaluations for us as we head down the stretch here. It's going to go really fast now as we head to 53 [players]. We've got the 75 cut coming up on Tuesday, so this whole process for us right now, we have all these games coming, so it goes really fast. It's all about us being able to lay out a map for the rest of the season, really, whether it's practice squad guys or claiming people, just basically presenting ourselves with a big road map for the rest of the season."
(On trimming the 90-man roster to 53 players before the regular season...) "This period coming up here, the 53 cut, we're bringing our scouts in this year, we're doing it a little bit different, we're bringing them in and letting them evaluate with us like we are preparing for the draft. So that's where we'll build our emergency board and our want board. It really truly never ends. We're just trying to get better all the time."
