Seattle today announced dates for its rookie minicamp, set to take place this weekend at Renton's Virginia Mason Athletic Center.
The three-day session will kick off on Friday, May 8, continue on Saturday, May 9, and conclude on Mother's Day - Sunday, May 10.
On-field work will run from 1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. PT on Friday and Saturday and from 10:30 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. on Sunday. Each practice is closed to the public, but select players and coaches will be made available to the media, with Seahawks.com on site providing written, video, photo, and social media content of each day's events.
Expected at Seahawks headquarters this weekend are the eight members of the team's 2015 draft class - defensive ends Frank Clark and Obum Gwacham, wide receiver/return specialist Tyler Lockett, offensive linemen Terry Poole, Mark Glowinski, and Kristjan Sokoli, cornerback Tye Smith, and strong safety Ryan Murphy. The 12 players Seattle agreed to terms with as undrafted rookie free agents - long snapper Nate Boyer, wide receiver Austin Hill, safeties Keenan Lambert, Ronald Martin, and Triston Wade, offensive lineman Jesse Davis, linebackers Quayshawn Nealy and Alex Singleton, running backs Thomas Rawls and Rod Smith, cornerback Trovon Reed, and defensive end Tory Slater - are also expected to be in attendance.
Last year's rookie minicamp featured 59 players, including the team's nine-player 2014 draft class, nine others who agreed to terms as undrafted rookie free agents, 11 non-rookies with rookie minicamp eligibility, and 30 more players who were invited to participate on a tryout basis. This weekend's setting should feature similar numbers, as first-year players meet their new Seahawks coaches, teammates, and begin to acclimate to life in the NFL.
