2024 Salute to Service Award

The 2024 Salute to Service Award nominations are in and the Seattle Seahawks are proud to nominate Head Coach Mike Macdonald for his continued support of the local military community!

Once again, 12s have a say in the voting process. With the ability to cast one vote per day between now and November 30, you can help ensure Coach Macdonald is one of three league-wide finalists.

Although not a West Point graduate, or a Veteran himself, head coach Mike Macdonald is inspired to respect and honor our service members, Veterans, and their families, as his father served in the Army and graduated from the United States Military Academy, Army West Point.

Having been with the Seahawks since February, Macdonald has shown his respect and care for the military community. During the offseason Macdonald and the entire team took a trip to Joint Base Lewis-McChord for team building and engagement with 1-2 Styker Brigade Combat Team. Macdonald also has invited the U.S. Navy's flight demonstration squadron, the Blue Angels, to practice and to speak to the team.

Macdonald has shown that he will continuously honor service members and embodies each tenant of the NFL's Salute to Service campaign. Whether that is visiting a base with the entire team or meeting with Army Rangers after practice to learn how they operate and apply it to a championship-caliber culture, Macdonald has honored, empowered and connected service members, as a head coach.

Seahawks staff and players visited the Joint Base Lewis-McChord military base on Tuesday, June 4, 2024. The team visited the military base to learn more about the day-to-day operations and show appreciation to those who serve our country.
