KANSAS CITY--Good afternoon from Kansas City, where the Seahawks are getting set to take on the Chiefs in their preseason opener at 1:30 p.m. PT. The sun is shining, but temperatures are supposed to only hit the upper 80s during the game, mild by August-in-Kansas-City standards. A reminder that this game can be watched in the Seattle area on Q13 Fox.
While there are no official inactives for preseason games, head coach Pete Carroll did provide a list following Friday's practice of players resting injuries who are not expected to play: RB Thomas Rawls, TE Jimmy Graham, S Kam Chancellor, T J'Marcus Webb, RB C.J. Prosise, RB Zac Brooks, DT Jordan Hill, WR Kasen Williams, WR Kevin Smith, WR Deshon Foxx and DT Sealver Siliga.
While the starters will play some early in Saturday's game, the preseason is especially big for young players looking to prove themselves, whether that means winning a starting job or just a spot on the 53-man roster.
And while the result of the game may not mean a ton, there are still plenty of reasons to pay attention, including these six we outlined yesterday.
