NEW ORLEANS – Seahawks left tackle Bradley Sowell surprised coaches and trainers this week with how quickly he bounced back from the knee injury that took him out of last week's game in Arizona, but he will not play in Sunday's game at New Orleans.

Sowell was listed as questionable on Friday's injury report despite an MCL sprain sustained in Seattle's Week 8 tie at Arizona, and Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said they would work Sowell out prior to the game to determine his availability.

With Sowell inactive, Carroll said starting undrafted rookie George Fant at left tackle is the “likely move," though he did mention other options such as J'Marcus Webb and Rees Odhiambo.

Everyone else on Seattle's inactive list had been ruled out Friday due to injuries, a list that includes safety Kam Chancellor, who will miss a third straight game with a groin injury.

As expected, defensive end Malliciah Goodman is active after signing with Seattle earlier in the week. He'll provide defensive line depth with starting defensive end Michael Bennett unavailable due to a knee injury. Carroll said Friday that Frank Clark and Cassius Marsh will both see an increased workload in Bennett's absence.

Here are the inactives for both teams:
