Seahawks Auction Autographed 'My Cause, My Cleats' Footwear For Charity

The Seahawks are auctioning off 'My Cause, My Cleats' footwear to support the causes players chose to represent during last month's NFL community initiative.

If a certain pair of cleats or shoes caught your eye during this past Sunday night's Seahawks victory over the Eagles, chances are they're now available for you to snag on the Seahawks’ official auction site

Several of the kicks seen at CenturyLink Field for the NFL's annual 'My Cause, My Cleats' campaign are now open for fans to bid on until next Wednesday, with 100 percent of the proceeds going back to the cause each Seahawk chose to support. A handful of local artists assisted the Seahawks throughout the design process, resulting in a series of vibrant and eye-popping footwear that each Seahawk autographed postgame.

"I think it's a great thing," Seattle defensive end Michael Bennett, who supported the National League of POW/MIA Families with his cleats, said of the 'My Cause, My Cleats' initiative last month. "I think it shows what our passions are outside of sports. I think sometimes as an athlete people see you as just this one way, one side they see you. They never really get to know that character and finally you get a chance to know what we're passionate about and what we really care about, what affects us on a daily basis and what we want to bring awareness to. Finding a way to bring people there or raise money for it and I think that's super important for us as individuals and also for us as beacons of light for young people who are looking up to us and to show them that not only are we on the field, but these are the causes that we care about. I think it's a good way to show the fans and show people what we're really about as human beings."

The 'My Cause, My Cleats' auction is one of the leading elements of the Seahawks Pro Shop's 'Give Back Weekend,' which in the spirit of the holiday season is highlighting a couple more special offers over the next few days to benefit fans.

Playing off the Seahawks' ‘Techno Thursday’ movement, starting Thursday, December 7 and extending through Sunday, December 10, if you call out the secret word 'TECHNO' while checking out at any Pro Shop location you'll net yourself 20 percent off any one item. Keep your eyes peeled in-store for a special 'Techno Thursday'-themed t-shirt, too.

Additionally, from 12 p.m. - 5 p.m on Saturday, December 9, the Pro Shop will wrap all gifts purchased in-store that day for free of charge. While each Pro Shop location will offer the gift-wrapping special, just one location — CenturyLink Field — will feature a pair of Seahawks Legends, with former Seattle safety Nesby Glasgow on site from 12 p.m. - 2 p.m. and former Seattle defensive lineman Manu Tuiasosopo in attendance from 3 p.m. - 4 p.m. Throughout the day, donations can be made in store to benefit The Forgotten Children’s Fund, which helps deliver happy holidays to underprivileged children and their families.

Take a look at the cleats of Seahawks players participating in the NFL's 'My Cause, My Cleats' initiative, as well as the causes, charities, foundations and campaigns they're supporting, and the artists who helped create their shoes.
