Seahawks LT Russell Okung Inactive for Sunday's Game at Dallas Cowboys

The Seahawks are getting several players back from injuries for Sunday's game at Dallas, but will be without left tackle Russell Okung, who is inactive because of an ankle injury.

Seahawks left tackle Russell Okung will not play in Sunday's game at Dallas because of an ankle injury sustained in Thursday's practice. Okung was listed as questionable on Friday's injury report, and did go through a pregame workout, but is one of Seattle's seven inactives.

Alvin Bailey is the likely candidate to replace Okung, which would mark his first start this season and the sixth of his career. Bailey started two games for Okung at left tackle last season and three more at left guard. Bailey split time at right tackle with Garry Gilliam last week, as Gilliam was playing with an ankle injury and the Seahawks were hoping to limit his workload. He also played three snaps at left tackle when Okung briefly came out of the game with an apparent injury.

"Alvin knows our system," Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said. "He's the most versatile guy we have, he can play all the spots. We count on him, he's got good experience with us, he communicates well with the other players, he's a smart player, so we're expecting him to do a good job."

Because of the versatility Carroll mentioned, Bailey starting at tackle also would affect the team's depth across the line. Bailey is listed as the top backup at every offensive line position other than center, so if he starts, someone else would have to fill in at another spot should an injury occur. Carroll noted that Lemuel Jeanpierre's ability to play center and guard should help bolster the line depth.

Okung is the only player for Seattle inactive because of injuries, a big change from the past couple of weeks when Jordan Hill, Demarcus Dobbs, Marcus Burley, Patrick Lewis, Nick Moody and Derrick Coleman have all missed time with injuries.

For Dallas, receiver Dez Bryant is active, meaning the All-Pro will play for the first time since injuring his foot in Dallas' opener.
