The Seahawks signed defensive end Rasheem Green, a third-round pick out of USC. With Green signing his rookie contract Wednesday, Seattle's entire nine-player 2018 draft class is now under contract.
Green was a first-team All-Pac-12 selection in 2017 after leading the Trojans with 10 sacks and 12.5 tackles for loss, and despite being the youngest member of Seattle's rookie class—he turned 21 just last month—Green isn't joining the Seahawks as a raw prospect.
"You could see after the first day that he's really well coached," Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said after Seattle's rookie minicamp in May. "You could see that he's got a real sense for rushing the passer. His movements and kind of his transitions in and out of his movements – he's an experienced kid for a 20-year old. So that means he's been coached really well and he's a good natural athlete. It's really obvious in the camp. He looks like he would have a chance to do what we need him to do. It doesn't look like he has a million miles to go."
