RENTON, Wash. -The Seattle Seahawks announced today plans to celebrate Paul Allen's 20 years as owner of the franchise leading up to the team's regular season home opener on Sunday, September 17 at CenturyLink Field. The celebration will culminate with a pregame ceremony prior to kickoff of the Seahawks vs. 49ers game.
Q13 FOX will premiere Moment in Time: Seattle Seahawks Allen Era 20 Year Anniversary, a 30-minute program, on Saturday, September 16 at 11 p.m. and Sunday, September 17 at 9:30 p.m. on Q13 FOX.
Starting September 14, Q13 FOX will air a series of documentary-style segments, created in conjunction with Vulcan Productions, to tell the story behind the chain of events that led to Mr. Allen's acquisition of the team and exploring how his leadership has laid the foundation for a winning culture. The segments can be viewed on Q13 News This Morning and Q13 News at 4 p.m. on Thursday, September 14 and Friday, September 15, as well as on Q13 News This Morning on JoeTV on Saturday, September 16 and Sunday, September 17. Since 2012, Q13 FOX has been the official television partner and the home of the Seattle Seahawks.
On September 13, the team will launch a sweepstakes* via Twitter for a chance to win a Seahawks VIP Gameday Experience, consisting of two game tickets vs. the Los Angeles Rams on December 17, pregame field passes, parking pass, jersey signed by Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll, 12 Flag and a $100 gift card to The Pro Shop. On June 17, 1997, Washington state voters approved Referendum 48 by a 51.1 percent to 48.9 percent margin (820,354 yes; 783,584 no), including a 56.4 percent margin (275,358 yes; 213,092 no) in King County, clearing the way for the Seahawks to build the outdoor stadium and for Paul Allen to assume ownership of the team.
