Seahawks Wednesday Practice Report: Linebacker Bruce Irvin Ruled Out vs San Francisco 49ers

A closer look at the Seahawks and 49ers Wednesday practice participation ahead of the two teams' Week 11 meeting at CenturyLink Field.

The Seahawks' first practice report of Week 11 is out and it contains little new information from what Seattle head coach Pete Carroll relayed to reporters at his Wednesday press conference.

As Carroll nearly confirmed earlier, linebacker Bruce Irvin (knee) has been ruled out of this week's game. That means fans can expect to see more of Mike Morgan and Kevin Pierre-Louis at the linebacker spot and more of Frank Clark and Cassius Marsh rushing the passer in the team's nickel defense. As Carroll noted, wide receiver Doug Baldwin (toe), running back Marshawn Lynch (abdomen), and wide receiver Paul Richardson (hamstring) were held from today's work. Baldwin is expected to play this week and Carroll said the team will evaluate Lynch and Richardson further on Thursday.

For the San Francisco 49ers, Seattle's opponent this Sunday at CenturyLink Field, starting running back Carlos Hyde (foot), whose last game came against the Seahawks late last month, did not participate. Neither did NaVorro Bowman (shoulder), though the star linebacker usually receives a day of rest to start the week and he was made available to the Seattle-area media on Wednesday, an indication that he'll be ready for Sunday's game. Wide receiver Anquan Boldin (hamstring), who also hasn't played since the team's Week 7 game against Seattle, was limited at Wednesday's practice. Niners head coach Jim Tomsula has labeled Hyde and Boldin as day to day heading into this week's game.

Here's a look at Wednesday's full practice reports for the Seahawks and 49ers:
