The first practice report of the NFL's third week is out with the Seahawks readying to take on the Chicago Bears this Sunday, Sept. 27 at CenturyLink Field.
For Seattle, Marshawn Lynch (calf), Tharold Simon (toe), and Steven Terrell (hip) did not participate in Wednesday's workout. Simon missed the team's regular season opener after hurting himself on the practice field, but was able to play against the Green Bay Packers this past Sunday. Earlier Wednesday, Seattle coach Pete Carroll noted Simon "didn't come out of the game better" and said he didn't know if the Seahawks cornerback would be ready for Sunday's game against the Bears. Terrell was the one injured player Carroll called out after this past week's game at Lambeau Field, with the Seahawks safety suffering a hip flexor injury that Carroll said was "pretty sore" to open this week. Linebacker Mike Morgan returned to practice on a limited basis after missing the team's first two games with a hamstring injury.
For Chicago, starting quarterback Jay Cutler did not participate in Wednesday's practice after straining his hamstring in the team's Week 2 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Bears coach John Fox has yet to rule Cutler out for this weekend's game in Seattle. Star wideout Alshon Jeffery (hamstring), who missed this past weekend's game against the Cardinals, was another key player who didn't take part in Wednesday's session for Chicago.
