Preseason schedules for 2019 were announced Tuesday by the NFL, and the Seahawks will open exhibition play against the Denver Broncos on Aug. 8-11 (exact dates and kickoff times will be released with the regular-season schedule) at Seattle's CenturyLink Field.
The Seahawks will travel away from the Emerald City for their next two preseason games, visiting the Vikings in Minnesota (Aug. 18) and the Chargers in Los Angeles (Aug. 22-25). Seattle's game against Minnesota will be nationally televised, with kickoff set for 5 p.m. PT on FOX.
Then, for the 14th consecutive Week 4 of preseason, the Seahawks will meet the Oakland Raiders to close out exhibition play. Seattle's final preseason game of 2019 will be played on Aug. 29 at CenturyLink Field.
The club's 2019 preseason schedule nearly mirrors its slate in 2018, when the Seahawks also played the Vikings and Chargers on the road and the Raiders at home. Notably, the Seahawks and Vikings will also meet in the regular season this year. Of note in Seattle's preseason opener, Paxton Lynch, who is currently the only backup quarterback on the Seahawks roster behind Russell Wilson, will get a chance to play against his former team. Lynch, who signed a futures contract with Seattle earlier this year, was drafted by the Broncos in the first round of the 2016 draft and started four games over two seasons before Denver released him last year.
The regular season schedule has traditionally been released prior to the NFL Draft, which is set to begin April 25, so expect that to become available soon as well. However, the Seahawks' 2019 opponents have already been determined. In addition to its standard home and away series of games against the NFC West's Arizona Cardinals, Los Angeles Rams, and San Francisco 49ers, the Seahawks will play home games against the New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, and Minnesota Vikings. On the road, the Seahawks will also meet the Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, Cleveland Browns, Philadelphia Eagles, and Pittsburgh Steelers.
Single-game ticket information for preseason and regular season games will become available following the announcement of the team's regular season schedule later this month.
