Free Agents Retained

4393275252 Re-Signed Josh Jobe-1920x1080 copy

What it means: The Seahawks are keeping a key piece of their secondary by re-signing Jobe, who started 15 of 16 games played last season. After originally joining the Seahawks as a member of the practice squad in 2024, Jobe worked his way up the depth chart to eventually become a starter. In 2025, Jobe recorded 12 passes defensed, one interception, 54 tackles, two quarterback hits and half a sack. Jobe also started all three postseason games on the way to a championship, including a strong performance in Super Bowl LX that included seven tackles, one tackle for loss and one pass defensed.

4402024012 Re-Signed Josh Jones-1920x1080 copy

What it means: By re-signing Jones, the Seahawks are keeping a veteran lineman who played a big role in the team's late-season success.

A third-round pick in the 2020 draft, Jones spent his first three seasons in Arizona, then spent 2023 with Houston and 2024 with Baltimore before signing with the Seahawks last year. Jones spent most of the season as the team's swing tackle, backing up both Charles Cross and Abraham Lucas, but with the Seahawks in must-win mode down the stretch, he took over at left tackle for Seattle's final three regular-season games, starting wins over the Rams, Panthers and 49ers to help the Seahawks secure an NFC West title and the No. 1 seed.

With Jones back, the Seahawks will have back not only all five starting offensive linemen from last season—Cross, Lucas, Grey Zabel, Jalen Sundell and Anthony Bradford—but also their top reserves like Jones, Olu Oluwatimi and Christian Haynes.

4387855629 Re-Signed Rashid Shaheed-1920x1080 copy-2 (2)

What it means: The Seahawks sent fourth and fifth-round picks to the Saints in exchange for Rashid Shaheed in early November, and the move proved to be a big one in the Seahawks' journey to a Super Bowl title. By locking him up with a multi-year deal, the Seahawks made sure Shaheed will continue to be a factor on offense and special teams moving forward.

In addition to making some big plays on offense, Shaheed was a game-changer in the return game, returning a kickoff for a touchdown in a win over Atlanta, and a punt for a touchdown to help spark a dramatic comeback win over the Rams in Week 16. Shaheed, who was the only player in the NFL with kick and punt return touchdowns during the 2025 season, added another kick return touchdown to jumpstart Seattle's playoff run, returning the opening kick 95 yards for a touchdown to set the tone in a divisional round blowout win over the 49ers.

Shaheed, who earned Pro-Bowl honors as a returner, finished the 2025 season ranked fifth in kick return average (29.8), and fourth in punt return average (14.7) just behind teammate Tory Horton, who was averaging 14.9 per return prior to suffering a season-ending shin injury.

Shaheed sticking around gives the Seahawks a deep and talented group of receivers, including AP Offensive Player of the Year and first-team All-Pro Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Cooper Kupp, Shaheed and Tory Horton, a standout rookie before his season was cut short by a shin injury.

What it means: By re-signing Surratt, the Seahawks are retaining a special teams standout for 2026 while also bolstering their linebacker depth.

Surratt was a third-round draft pick in 2021 and played nine games for the Vikings his rookie season. He spent his next three seasons with the Jets, appearing in 32 games with five starts. Last season for Seattle, Surratt appeared in 11 games, playing 60 percent of the special teams snaps and recording 11 tackles, the second-most on the team.

What it means: Despite having another suitor in free agency, Jake Bobo is staying in Seattle. Earlier this offseason, the Seahawks placed the right-of-first-refusal tender on Bobo, a restricted free agent, meaning he could still negotiate with other teams, but that if he signed an offer sheet with another team the Seahawks would have the right to match that deal.

Last week, the Jacksonville Jaguars signed Bobo to an offer sheet, which gave the Seahawks five days to match the deal or let him walk, and the Seahawks elected to match that deal to keep a fan-favorite in Seattle.

"This is everything you want coming into the league," Bobo said. "I love this organization. This organization gave me a shot in the NFL. I owe my career to this organization, so to be able to stay here and build on what we've already built, it means a whole lot for John (Schneider) and the guys upstairs to put some trust in me to help this organization.

"I didn't want to go anywhere else. Obviously, it looked like there was a shot I was going to end up in Jacksonville, but in the back of my mind, I was hoping the guys upstairs would make something happen, and they did. I was incredibly thankful for that. I knew where I wanted to be, I knew where home was, and I'm definitely glad it worked out."

Bobo, who signed with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent in 2023, made the team as a rookie after a standout training camp, and has remained on the 53-man roster in each of his first three season, appearing in 45 games with three starts, catching 34 passes for 323 yards and three touchdowns. In addition to that regular-season performance, Bobo came through with two big catches in the postseason during Seattle's recent Super Bowl run, one for a conversion on third-and-long in a divisional-round win over the 49ers, and another for a touchdown in the NFC championship game victory over the Rams.

Bobo has also been a big special teams contributor throughout his Seahawks career, and is also one of the team's best blocking receivers in the run game.

4402258556 Re-Signed AJ Finley-1920x1080 copy

What it means: Finley staying in Seattle helps giving the Seahawks some depth in their secondary heading into 2026, as well as a player who can contribute on special teams. Finley, who joined the Seahawks as a waiver claim in December of 2024, appeared in four games for Seattle that season, playing primarily on special teams, but missed the entire 2025 season due to a knee injury suffered in August. Finley came into the league in 2023 as an undrafted free agent out of Mississippi, spending his rookie season and part of 2024 with the Chargers, appearing in 22 games.

Seahawks Re-Sign Brandon Pili

What it means: By re-signing Pili, the Seahawks are keeping another piece of what was a deep defensive line rotation in 2025. Pili, who initially joined the Seahawks as a waiver claim in 2024, appeared in 13 games last season with one start, recording 12 tackles and one forced fumble, which came on special teams as part of the kickoff coverage team.

4387860094 Re-Signed Brady Russell-1920x1080 copy

What it means: In Russell, the Seahawks are bringing back not only one of their top special teams players, but also one of their top leaders, a captain who leads his team onto the field each Sunday carrying the 12 flag. Russell led the Seahawks in special teams tackles last season with 14, and provides a versatile and physical presence on offense as both a fullback and tight end, but for all he brings on the field from snap to whistle, his leadership is also a big part of why he's coming back for a fourth season with the Seahawks.

Russell, who was named one of the team's game captains for Super Bowl LX helps set the tone for his team, and for the special teams units in particular.

"Brady, from day one, how much pride he took in his role, again, setting an example for how we want to operate here with our special teams units," Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said after Russell was named a Super Bowl captain. "Guys follow his lead. His energy every day is contagious. Love for his teammates, love for the game, unselfish. He's tough as nails. You could argue he's probably one of the best core four combo guys in the league. He's been doing it for a couple years."

4391155650 Re-Signed Drake Thomas-1920x1080 copy

What it means: The Seahawks were able to lock up a defensive playmaker before the start of free agency, which means the Seahawks will head into 2026 with both of their starting linebackers, Thomas and Ernest Jones IV, under contract for multiple years. After spending his first two seasons as a backup and special teams contributor, Thomas took over a starting role early in the 2025 season and emerged as a top playmaker on a Super Bowl-winning defense, recording 89 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, eight passes defensed, 3.5 sacks, one interception, and one fumble recovery.

What it means: As an exclusive rights free agents (fewer than three accrued seasons), meaning he could not negotiate with other teams once tendered by the Seahawks, it was all but a formality that Holani would be back in 2026. And depending on what else transpires this offseason, the former undrafted free agent out of Boise State has a chance to take on a significant role next season. With Kenneth Walker III leaving in free agency and with Zach Charbonnet having to come back from a late-season ACL tear, Holani will be right in the mix for playing time along with free-agent addition Emanuel Wilson, Kenny McIntosh, who is coming back from missing 2025 with a knee injury, and any other additions the Seahawks may still make.

Holani appeared in 11 games during the 2025 season, rushing for 73 yards and a touchdown on 22 regular-season carries before landing on injured reserve. He also scored a touchdown on special teams, recovering a kickoff in the end zone in a Week 2 win in Pittsburgh. Holani returned from injured reserve in the postseason and stepped into the No. 2 running back role after Zach Charbonnet injured his knee in the divisional round, playing 47 offensive snaps in wins over the Rams and Patriots while rushing for 10 yards on five carries and catching four passes for 34 yards.

Seahawks Cody White Re-Signs

What it means: By re-signing White, the Seahawks are retaining a key special teamer and a receiver capable of making big plays when needed. White entered the league as an undrafted free agent in 2021, spending time with several teams including the Kansas City Chiefs, New York Giants, Denver Broncos and Pittsburgh Steelers before joining Seattle's practice squad in 2023. He played in 10 games in 2025, catching three passes for 90 yards and one touchdown and also made an impact on special teams, returning four kicks for 106 yards.

IMG_4394

What it means: The Seahawks re-signed Jean-Charles, bolstering their depth at cornerback by bringing back a player who spent last season on the practice squad. A former fifth-round pick out of Appalachian State, Jean-Charles initially signed with the Seahawks last spring, then spent the 2025 season on the practice squad. Before joining the Seahawks, Jean-Charles spent two seasons with the Packers, who drafted him in 2021, then split the 2023 season between San Francisco and New Orleans before spending the 2024 season with the Saints. Jean-Charles has appeared in 37 career games with two starts, recording 29 tackles, one interception and two passes defensed.

Free Agents Tendered

What it means: As an exclusive rights free agent, Okada cannot negotiate with other teams once tendered, so it's all but a formality that he is back in 2026. And Okada, who played very well in 11 starts in 2025, will have a chance to compete for a big role next season following the departure of Coby Bryant, who left in free agency, signing with the Bears. A former undrafted free agent out of Montana State, Okada appeared in just nine games with no starts over his first two seasons, but had a big season in 2025, playing in all 17 games, including 11 starts while recording 65 tackles, three tackles for loss, one interception, six passes defensed, one fumble recovery and 1.5 sacks.

Free Agent Additions

Bell_1920x1080

What it means: By signing Bell, the Seahawks bringing back a player who spent most of the 2025 season in Seattle. Bell, who signed with the Seahawks as a free agent last spring, appeared in 14 games with two starts last season, but did not finish the season in Seattle because he was claimed off waivers by the Panthers after bouncing back and forth between Seattle's 53-man roster and practice squad.

In addition to providing safety depth and seeing playing time in three-safety packages, Bell was also a big contributor on special teams, playing 66 percent of Seattle's special teams snaps during his time with the team, contributing five special teams tackles as well as a blocked punt in a Week 3 win over the Saints. Prior to joining the Seahawks, Bell spent his first three seasons with the Cleveland Browns, appearing in 50 games with seven starts.

4407275770 Free Agent SIgning - Noah Igbinoghene-1920x1080 copy

What it means: By signing Igbinoghene, the Seahawks are adding an experienced cornerback with the versatility to play outside or in the slot. A 2020 first-round pick out of Auburn, Igbinoghene spent his first three seasons in Miami before being traded to Dallas in 2024. He played the past two seasons with Washington, appearing in 32 games with 12 starts. For his career. Igbinoghene has appeared in 69 games with 17 starts, recording 17 passes defense, one interception and 119 tackles. He also has had multiple roles on special teams, including kick return duties, and in 2023 he returned a block field goal for a touchdown.

Seahawks Sign Running Back Rodney Thomas II

What it means: After losing starting safety Coby Bryant in free agency, the Seahawks added to that position group by signing Thomas. A 2022 seventh-round pick out of Yale, Thomas played all 68 games over the past four seasons with 26 starts. Thomas, who also played a significant role on special teams during his time with the Colts, totaled 114 tackles, six interceptions and 10 passes defensed.

4403602524-Free Agent Signing-EmanuelWilson-1920x1080 copy

What it means: After losing Kenneth Walker III in free agency earlier in the week, the Seahawks added help at running back by signing Wilson, who spent the first three season of his career with the Packers.

The 5-foot-10, 226-pound back out of Fort Valley State, a Division II HBCU in Georgia, has played in 41 games over the course of three seasons and has rushed for 1,083 yards on 242 carries, averaging 4.5 yards a carry. He also has seven rushing touchdowns and one receiving touchdown. Making his first career start last season, Wilson rushed for 107 yards and two touchdowns in a Week 12 win over the Vikings.

On Seattle Sports 710AM, Seahawks general manager/president of football operations John Schneider said, "Our pro staff did a great job evaluating, identifying Emanuel and just saying, 'Hey, here's this 230-pound guy with great feet.' And you sign a one-year deal like that, it's kind of like a, come on in, come be part of our culture. Kind of like, come prove it, see what you can do and compete with a group. And he gives us a little bit of something different. He's a heavy runner. Excited about him."

Free Agent Departures

What it means: Bryant went from nickel cornerback as a rookie to starting safety the past two seasons, starting 26 of 32 games played, recording seven interceptions, 13 passes defensed, two forced fumbles 139 tackles and five tackles for loss. With Bryant gone, the Seahawks will need a new starter at safety along with Julian Love, but they already have a very good option in house in Ty Okada, who started 11 games in 2025 filling in for both Love and Bryant. The Seahawks also, of course, have safety Nick Emmanwori, who showed a ton of versatility as a rookie, playing primarily in a nickel role.

What it means: Mafe, a second-round pick in 2022, was an important part of the Seahawks' edge rotation along with Derick Hall, DeMarcus Lawrence and Uchenna Nwosu. Mafe played 65 games over four seasons with 34 starts, recording 164 tackles, 20.0 sacks, 24 tackles for loss and 36 quarterback hits, and had a career-best 9.0 sacks in 2023.

What it means: A late-season surge, which included Super Bowl MVP honors, helped Walker become one of the top free agents on the market, and he quickly cashed in with a big contract with Kansas City. For the Seahawks, the move creates a clear need at running back, especially early in the season with Zach Charbonnet coming off a late-season knee injury. The Seahawks will have chances in free agency and the draft to add at running back, but Walker's explosiveness will be hard to replicate.

What it means: Woolen, who enjoyed a breakout rookie season, earning Pro-Bowl honors after tying for the NFL lead with six interceptions in 2022, has been an important part of Seattle's secondary since arriving as a fifth-round pick out of UTSA. Woolen appeared in 64 games over the past four seasons, starting 53, and had 12 interceptions and 53 passes defensed over that span. This past season, Woolen split playing time at cornerback with Josh Jobe, who the Seahawks re-signed on Tuesday. With Woolen gone, Jobe likely steps into a full-time starting role opposite Pro-Bowl corner Devon Witherspoon, though as is the case every offseason, the Seahawks will still look to add depth and competition at cornerback, as well as every other season.

What it means: Young, a 2022 seventh-round pick, was a standout on special teams throughout his four seasons in Seattle, but will now follow Klint Kubiak to Las Vegas hoping to carve out a bigger role on offense than he was able to have during his time in Seattle.

Take a look at some of the best photos from the 2025 season in which the Seahawks won their second World Championship in franchise history.
