The Seattle Seahawks have signed quarterback Jake Heaps, adding depth to a position group that, heading into the draft, consisted of only one player, Russell Wilson.
Heaps, who won a pair of state titles with Skyline High School, was one of the top recruits in the nation, then went on to spend time at BYU, Kansas and Miami. After going undrafted in 2015, Heaps signed with the New York Jets, appearing in two preseason games, but was released before the start of the regular season. Heaps also spent time with the Brooklyn Bolts of the Fall Experimental Football League last year. Â
