The man who coined the "Holy Catfish!" call on the Seahawks radio broadcast made a timely prediction in this past Sunday's 27-17 Seattle win over the New York Jets.
After Jets receiver Brandon Marshall hauled in a 17-yard pass from quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick to start the game's fourth quarter, a play that saw Seattle cornerback Richard Sherman flagged for defensive pass interference, former NFL wideout and 'Voice of the Seahawks' Steve Raible felt compelled to make a bold projection over the airwaves.
"Now they're going to throw one his direction and they're going to get a pick-six," Raible says. "You watch."
The very next play, of course, saw Sherman record his first interception of the season on a Fitzpatrick ball again intended for Marshall.
"Fitzpatrick takes a shotgun snap, four-man rush, he's going to throw left again," Raible's forecasted call begins. "And Sherman picks it off! Right in front of Brandon Marshall! That's right, go back one more time and try No. 25. You don't make that man angry!"
And while Sherman didn't quite return the takeaway for a touchdown, it was part of a back-and-forth battle between two Pro Bowlers that head coach Pete Carroll called "fantastic to watch."
