SEATTLE -- John Schneider talked with 'Voice of the Seahawks' Steve Raible on the field at CenturyLink Field moments before Seattle kicked off its second preseason game of 2016 against the Minnesota Vikings.
Here's three thoughts from the Seahawks general manager:
1. (On tonight's matchup with the Vikings...) "We're going to get some players back tonight that we're able to watch. We were able to watch all of the rest of the teams last week and see how they played and how we compare to them, being able to study Minnesota too. So it's good to be able to look at their younger players, their back-end players that may or may not make their team. But we're getting some guys back tonight that we're really excited about seeing, [Alex] Collins will get some more carries tonight too. We're excited to be back here and see some of these other guys play."
2. (On players sitting out...) "When you're talking about Jimmy [Graham], and Thomas [Rawls], and C.J. Prosise, we're just trying to get these guys in a situation where when they come back they have less of a chance of getting injured. Really, with Thomas, he's practicing right now and everything, but we'll probably maybe at the end of the fourth game get him some carries. Let him hit a little bit. I'm not sure about Jimmy, we're just trying to get him ready for the season."
3. (On the Vikings defense...) "Defensively, it's going to be a really good test for our offensive line, especially at tackle. The edge rushers are really good for these guys. They're about four or five deep there, so they're going to see a lot of movement, a lot of quickness, guys that can turn speed into power. With [Garry] Gilliam, [Bradley] Sowell and those guys, it's going to be a really good test. It'll be a good evaluation for those guys."
