Wednesday Practice Report: Seven Seahawks Do Not Participate To Open Week 16

Doug Baldwin, Kam Chancellor, and Jeremy Lane were among the Seahawks sidelined during the first practice of Week 16.

Seattle's first practice report of Week 16 is out and seven players did not participate on Wednesday for the Seahawks, six of which are related to injuries.

Wide receiver Doug Baldwin (hamstring), tight end Anthony McCoy (knee/ankle), left tackle Russell Okung (calf), strong safety Kam Chancellor (pelvis), defensive tackle Jordan Hill (toe), defensive end Cliff Avril (not injury related), and cornerback Jeremy Lane (knee) were held out to start the week of work ahead of Sunday's game against the St. Louis Rams. Running back Marshawn Lynch (abdomen), meanwhile, has already been ruled out for this week's game as he continues to rehab from surgery.

Cornerback DeShawn Shead (ankle), who left this past Sunday's game after just four plays to rest, was a full participant on Wednesday, a good sign that he's on track to receive a regular workload against the Rams. Wide receiver Jermaine Kearse (calf) and defensive end Michael Bennett (toe) were limited Wednesday.

Pete Carroll provided more detailed updates on McCoy, Okung, Chancellor, Hill, and Lynch at his Wednesday afternoon press conference, comments you can take a look at right here.

The Seahawks head coach will likely have more information on the team's injury situation when he meets with reporters after Thursday's practice. Carroll won't meet with the media on Friday - Christmas Day, but the team will still hold a practice and release a gameday status report that we'll pass along as soon as we can right here at Seahawks.com.
