Good afternoon, 12s.
Here's a look at what's 'out there' for today – Wednesday, May 20 – about your Seattle Seahawks:
The Sky Is the Limit
Fresh off his stellar rookie season, DK Metcalf has proven himself as one of the top young wide receivers in the game - and the experts have taken notice.
Yesterday, former Seahawks receiver and NFL Network analyst, Nate Burleson, named DK Metcalf his top breakout wide receiver candidate in 2020.
"This dude is a monster!" Burleson said. "I feel like he's about to take the league by storm with that type of size, speed and ability to catch the ball."
Metcalf's 900-yard first season ranked third among rookies in 2019. When looking at his top performances, Metcalf especially made his mark at the Eagles in the Wild Card Round. He racked up 7 catches for 160 yards and a touchdown, including the catch to seal the victory in Philadelphia.
"In the playoff game, he didn't look like a rookie," Burleson said. "He might have broken an NFL rookie record with 160 yards receiving, but in that NFC Wild Card game, he was everything but."
Metcalf made his name known, now he's training to take the next step in his sophomore season. Burleson praised his humility and like all of us, he can't wait to see what DK can accomplish as he continues to grow and work with Russell Wilson.
"Now imagine what he's going to do this year with another year in the offense," Burleson said. "The sky is the limit for these guys on the list."
