Wednesday Round-Up: Marcus Mariota expected to throw at 2015 NFL Combine

A daily link round-up of what's "out there" about your Seattle Seahawks

!

Good morning, 12s.

Here's a look at what's "out there" for today - Wednesday, Feb. 18 - about your Seattle Seahawks:

Mariota Expected To Throw On Saturday, Winston 50/50

According to NFL reports that surfaced on Tuesday night, Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota is expected to participate in Saturday's throwing drills at the 2015 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, Ind.

Mariota, one of the consensus top-two signal callers in this year's draft along with Florida State's Jameis Winston - the two most-recent winners of the Heisman Trophy - had reportedly been undecided about participating in this week's on-field workouts. Winston is still undecided on whether or not he will throw.

If a quarterback chooses to play spectator, it wouldn't be too surprising. Many of the draft's top quarterback prospects in years past have waited until their university's pro day sessions to show off their arms. That setup allows them to operate in a familiar setting and throw to receivers that they have built a rapport with.

With Mariota now expected to throw, this weekend's drills should be a little more entertaining. A few other of this year's top prospects at the quarterback position are also expected to partake in the throwing portion of this week's combine, including UCLA's Brett Hundley, Baylor's Bryce Petty, and Oregon State's Sean Mannion.
