On Monday, Seahawks fan Ben Mader came to Kam Chancellor's aid as the Seahawks strong safety was attempting to load a refrigerator into his SUV at a local hardware store.
According to Q13 FOX, Chancellor, who said he played Super Bowl XLIX with a torn MCL, was wearing a brace on his left knee and getting swarmed by fans for autographs when Mader approached and offered to help.
"I kind of felt bad for this guy cause he's got a knee brace, he's hobbling around his truck, trying to put his fridge in there," said Mader. "I said, well, if you don't live too far, I don't mind — I'll take it in my truck … and he's like, 'Yeah, that would be great' and the whole time I'm thinking I don't care where he lives, I'm just going to take it."
Mader delivered the refrigerator to Chancellor's home, and received a Seahawks jersey with a personal message in return.
"It says, 'Thanks for being thoughtful. God bless your heart. Bam-Bam.'" said Mader. "And then he signed it."
Chancellor later posted a thank you to Mader on his Instagram account.
"The 12s show love in and out of season," Chancellor wrote. "Thanks, Ben, for taking the time to help me unload my refrigerator. You're a good dude."
Rocky Seto Named Assistant Head Coach/Defense
On Tuesday afternoon, the Seahawks promoted defensive passing game coordinator Rocky Seto to assistant head coach/defense.
Seto's coaching elevation came one day after Seattle named secondary coach Kris Richard the team's defensive coordinator in place of Dan Quinn, who accepted the head coaching job at the Atlanta Falcons last week.
"I watched him grow up in our system," Carroll explained recently of what Seto means to the Seattle defense. "He has become really the keeper of the records. He's got all the information. He knows everything we've ever done and how we've done it.
"He's a tremendous resource for us to always stay in touch with the principles and the philosophy and all that."
