Good afternoon, 12s.
Here's a look at what's 'out there' for today – Wednesday, July 1 – about your Seattle Seahawks.
Amadi Helps at Home
Seahawks safety Ugo Amadi understands and appreciates the tireless work put in by healthcare workers every day. He has seen it firsthand--his sister is an employee at the Alvin C. York Campus, a part of the Tennessee Valley Healthcare System dedicated to providing care and services to veterans. Adding the COVID-19 pandemic to the list of challenges to the job, as well as risks, only made him that much more grateful for what they do every day.
To express his gratitude, Ugo spent a day passing out lunches to the employees at his sister's medical center, located near his hometown of Nashville.
"I think it is extremely important that this country give back to a group who have sacrificed everything for our freedom," Amadi told TVHS's public affairs office. "Veterans deserve the highest quality of care and I believe they are getting that from the workers who are also risking their lives being on the frontlines during the pandemic."
"Seeing my sister come home after long days of putting her body on the line to care for Veterans and patients at TVHS gave me the idea to give back to the VA.," he said. "I selected TVHS not only because of my sister's employment but because of the wonderful healthcare that is provided to Veterans. Based on my interactions with the nurses and doctors, I clearly saw the passion they have for their work and their patients."
The Seahawks safety recently spent time distributing lunches to medical center employees in his hometown.
