Head Coach Jonathan Gannon

JONATHAN GANNON: Injury front, I think we're okay. Nothing too crazy of note. You know, not our best game. Didn't do enough (in) all three phases. Give credit to Seattle. I thought they played extremely well. I just told the team in there, we're going to learn a lot from this game. We've got to get back to work tomorrow and have to learn and improve from this game. So that's what we'll have energy and focus to do.

What do you think they're going to learn?

JONATHAN GANNON: I think to value the ball. I felt like the interception was a big play. I think we've got to protect the quarterback better. Seemed like the pocket was collapsing a little too much. That goes on all 11. That's not just the O-line. It's the quarterback, the (running) backs, the receivers, timing, rhythm. I thought that defensively I've got to do a better job when they start to play a certain style, we've got to have a couple more bullets. That was completely on me because I wanted a tight menu this week. That was not good by me. So we'll just get back at it, fundamentals and everything that goes into winning and losing. That's what we'll look at tomorrow.

(On the pass protection)

JONATHAN GANNON: It started a heavy dose of pressure there on third down, and it looked like they started running some four-man rush in games. We just have to do a good job in pass-pro. It's not just the offense, the offensive line. I think it's the route detail of when guys have to get open, things of that nature. That's all 11 (players). So we'll get back at it. We'll rebound from it.

Were you surprised at all with the run game today? You guys have done such a great job.

JONATHAN GANNON: Yeah, I felt like it started a little sloppy, and then we got it moving, and then we fouled a couple of times. I thought there was plays there, but again, where you get down in that game, you're not really playing normal ball there for a good chunk of the game. So we've got to do a better job earlier in the game to make sure we're not playing left-handed.

What do you think made Leonard Williams so hard to go against?

JONATHAN GANNON: He's a good player. We knew he was a good player coming in. He's a premium player for a reason. Hats off to him. He's always been a good player, and I think we've got to look at that, how can we adjust and handle him a little bit better because I thought he wrecked the game.

One of the areas this year Kyler Murray has really shined is under pressure he's been fantastic. Today it seemed like when there was pressure, there were struggles for the offense. Did you see that?

JONATHAN GANNON: Coach and playing. We all have to look in the mirror and figure out better ways and make sure that he is not under duress. Like I said, we'll have a lot of energy and focus (on) how to get better from this game.

What information did you get out of Marvin Harrison Jr.'s potential touchdown review?

JONATHAN GANNON: Not a touchdown.

Kyler was in the medical tent at the very end.

JONATHAN GANNON: Yeah, I think that was from up top. They called down. The guy—we call it 'burped him'—he capped him off, fell on him. He lost his wind. That's why he didn't get up immediately. They thought it might have been a head issue, made him go in the tent, but he was fine.

What did you make of the pressure your D-line was able to generate?

JONATHAN GANNON: I thought it was good. We're going to learn a lot with our four-man rush mechanics. I feel like we've got to do a better job because a lot of his extension plays, I felt hurt us. Off the top of my head, two or three conversions on third down, and we were in four-man rush. So we have to cover better and rush a little bit better. We knew coming in Geno, he's a really good player. He can move and make plays and extend, but that's another thing that we're going to learn a lot from. We have to do a better job with that.

Having said that, do you feel like your defense gave you a chance today?

JONATHAN GANNON: Yeah, I do. I thought that they hung in there and battled, forced a bunch of punts, kept points off the board. I thought the interception by Garrett (Williams) was fantastic, kept us in the game there, kept points off the board. We made some mistakes. We made some mistakes, starting with me. I'm pissed off at myself because I'm the first culprit, but then we'll get better as a staff and the players will get better.

With the offensive line do you attribute any of those struggles to lack of continuity with the substitutions (with the first unit)?

JONATHAN GANNON: No, I don't.

QB Kyler Murray

The offense never seemed to get on track today. Did it feel like that?

KYLER MURRAY: Yeah, credit to them. Credit to them. I feel like we would get a chunk here or there and then self-inflicted (mistake), whether it's penalties, negative run. Obviously I can't give them seven points. We just couldn't keep going. Couldn't keep going at critical times. We didn't stay on the field and didn't make it happen. It's a frustrating day. Frustrating day offensively, especially the way we've been playing to come out here and lay an egg and get physically dominated in a sense. Like I said, credit to them.

What happened on the interception? It looked like you thought you were going to get the corner, and then you couldn't, so --

KYLER MURRAY: Yeah. The play that we successfully have run here in the past, 21 did a good job of redirecting. Obviously he's a good player with good feel. So he made it tough to get the corner. Once I found out I wasn't going to get the corner, obviously that's on me, it's on me. It's on me. Cant give them seven points, especially when our defense is playing the way that they're playing. I feel like if I don't do that, we're in the game four quarters because that's the way it was trending. Defense was battling their ass off doing everything we needed for them to do to win the game. Offensively we got to be better. We didn't hold the ball to finish in the red zone.

This season you've been really good. When they get pressure to you, you have been excellent. Was there anything that felt different with today --

KYLER MURRAY: No, I think, again, they did a good job. I think up front they played well over there. You know, obviously we have to go back and watch the film and see exactly where we need corrections and stuff like that. We just played uncharacteristic, and credit to them. Like I said, I feel like they dominated for the most part.

Looked like you were in pain. How are you feeling right now with your ribs?

KYLER MURRAY: I'll be fine.

How do you just turn this one around and just move on to the next, Minnesota?

KYLER MURRAY: Again, it's frustrating, but we have no choice. We have no choice. Minnesota on the road. Obviously a great team. Just won again. If we want to go where we want to go to, we have to go win.

When you are going up against Leonard Williams with what he was able to do today, what made it tough kind of going up against him?

KYLER MURRAY: Like I said, he got going today, along with it's a good defense, a great defense. We knew that coming in. Obviously a hostile environment. Didn't execute. Did not execute at a high enough level to win that game. Then, like I said, I gave them seven points, which I can't do. That's the game right there, giving them seven points and then not finishing in the red zone.

You still didn't execute, what do you mean by that?

KYLER MURRAY: Didn't execute.

(Off microphone)

KYLER MURRAY: It starts with me, but yeah, offensively we have to be better.

OL Jonah Williams

(On being back on the field) "It was good to be back out there and be playing again on the field with the guys. Obviously not the outcome that we wanted at all, but it was nice to be back out there."

(On the Seahawks pass rush today) "I think part of it was that we couldn't get the run game going, and that falls on all of us. That makes it hard when you're in obvious passing downs pretty often. I feel like we were behind the sticks a lot. So, it just comes down to all of us have to execute a little bit better on first and second down and keep us out of those obvious passing downs."

(On how he felt in pass protection today) "I think it was fine. It could've been better, getting back out there and shaking some rust off. I thought it was okay. A lot of room to improve though."

(On if the defense showed any looks that they didn't expect) "They did, but one of the things that they've shown is that they're very multiple up front. They have a lot of different personnel groupings and are a little bit unpredictable in that regard. Nothing that we weren't prepared for, but like I said, I think it just came down to execution for us."

WR Michael Wilson

(On how much the entire team has a role in this outcome...) "Speaking from the receiver standpoint, that looks like winning and making contested catches, and obviously there's pressure. There's going to be certain zones where there's going to be man on the back side. So, from a receiver standpoint, I think there were a couple of plays where we could have done a better job of creating more separation and winning earlier so Kyler (Murray) can get the ball out. JG's right [head coach Jonathan Gannon], it's a whole combination of everyone being on the same page. I think we didn't do a good enough job of executing the little things, and that turned into big things."

(On if today felt different, in terms of little things, than the past month...) "Yeah, I think offensively it didn't feel like we could ever get in a flow. Whether that be a sack, penalty, penalties that took away touchdowns, or Marvin's catch. There were a lot of things where it felt like the flow of things just wasn't in our favor. And some games go like that. And then we didn't execute enough to make up for the game sort of not going our way."

(On how to prevent that from happening next week...) "It comes down to the process and the preparation. Whether we would have won this game or lost this game, the week doesn't change. You have X amount of hours, X amount of time in the building, and so we've got to do what we've been doing and just be deliberate and intentional in how we go about our business. That will take care of itself."

(On what is the value of the ball in a game like today...) "The big play that I keep going back to that hurt us is the interception return for a touchdown. We just didn't do a good enough job, all parties involved, executing that play. Not only is that a turnover, it's an explosive play for a touchdown like that. That set the momentum and changed the game, and ultimately that's what it did. Not saying that was the only play that made us lose the game, but that's a big one that can lead to a loss. But the ball is everything. You win the turnover battle, your chance of winning the game increases by a lot."

CB Garrett Williams

(On his mindset playing defense late in the game) "Yeah, I mean it's just the flow of the game. Obviously, you want to limit points, especially when you're heading into the fourth quarter. Like I said, it's the flow of the game. I'm just trying to make plays when the ball is in the air, that's our goal on defense. I just happened to be the one who was right there, when the ball was right there."

(On how the Cardinals played on defense) "We played really sloppy on defense honestly, but that's a testament to how talented we are. To play as sloppy as we played and still limit them to, I think, 10 points, and off of one explosive, easy fix, so I feel good about what we did, but obviously we have to improve on the sloppiness."

DL Naquan Jones

(On how he's feeling after the game) "A team like that, especially coming off of the bye week, we needed to bring that energy from the first play. We kind of got behind the eight ball a little bit and had to fight to get back. Overall, I felt like the effort and intensity was there, you just can't put yourself in those types of situations and play catch-up. It's always hard to fight back."

(On how the team's mentality can help) "Of course. We're in a league where no one really cares what's going on. Nobody is going to feel sorry for us that we lost today. We have to come back tomorrow and get ready for Minnesota. That's a tough team. Yeah, you can be sad about it, plane ride, be kind of sad, but kind of just flush it and move on to the next game."

DL L.J. Collier

(On how it felt coming back to Seattle) "It was a good experience, I really wanted the win, but it was just another game to me, man. I knew how I felt coming in here and I didn't want to let my emotions get the best of me. I really wanted the dub (win), but I wanted the dub for the whole team, so it was a letdown not to get the dub today."

(On how the d-line played today) "I definitely feel like we got after him today, but he definitely got outside of the pocket and extend. We can't let that happen, we can't let him extend plays down the field. We need to rush better. Definitely need to put this on us today because we can't leave the guys in the back 7, who are covering their asses off, out to dry. We have got to make plays, we've got to get to him."

(On if he feels the defense played well enough to get the win) "We didn't win, so at the end of the day that's all that really matters. We didn't get the dub. IT doesn't matter how you played, if at the end of the fourth when the zero-zero's go by you want to see a win. Despite how we played, and I thought we did play a pretty good game today, they made one more play than we did."
