What The Seahawks Said Following Their 26-13 Preseason Win vs Kansas City Chiefs

Quotes and locker room sound from the Seahawks following their third preseason game of 2017.

Quotes and locker room sound from the Seahawks following their 26-13 win over the Kansas City Chiefs in the third week of preseason.

DE Cliff Avril

(On how the defense performed…) "I think we did some good things. I don't think we're where we need to be to go where we want to go. There's a lot of leaky things, but it's all things that we can fix. We have the personnel and the right guys and the right mindset. It's just little things like not allowing them to get two or three yards after that first contact."

(On the mindset of the players that are on the roster bubble going into the last game…) "My message to them would be to go out and have fun. I think when you make the game serious or when you have a different mind space, I think you're going to go out there and mess up and try to do too much. You just have to do what you're supposed to do and the plays will happen. You'll make the plays that you're supposed to make. That's the biggest thing that I would tell them is to go out there and have fun."

RB Eddie Lacy

(On how he's feeling after game 3 now that he is getting used to this system...)  "It's definitely been a process, but I feel like I'm coming along good. Just being out there, being back on the field for the first time since October and just trying to get the nerves out and get past the mental part. So far, it's been good."

RB Chris Carson

(On the environment at CenturyLink Field...)  "It's unreal, I've never played in an environment like this. I'm just blessed to be here. In general, we have one of the best fan bases in the NFL and they definitely give energy on the field. They hype up the defense, they even hype up the offense."

CB Shaquill Griffin

(On what the first two home preseason games were like...) "It was awesome. Exactly what they said it was going to be. It was extra loud. The fans, they bring everything. We make plays, you can tell for yourself, the stadium's getting really crazy and just getting a chance to play just a home game feels so awesome. It's something I dream about, being a kid, getting the chance to play in front of all these fans and it was something different and I enjoyed it."

WR Kasen Williams

(On where he is at right now through training camp and the preseason and how he is settling in more as the regular season approaches...)  "I'm not even worried about it. The one thing in my mind before I came out before preseason even started was just not worry about counting numbers, not worried about where I fall in line, and not worrying about where I stand. I'm going to continue that until it's time for them [Head Coach Pete Carroll & General Manager John Schneider] to make a decision."

T Rees Odhiambo

*(On what he thinks he has to do to capitalize on this opportunity to land the starting left tackle position...) *"One thing you can always do is be consistent at everything you do every single day, and just keep trying to improve yourself with every chance you get. Just make sure that every time you go out there, you do your best."

QB Austin Davis

(On how it felt getting his first touchdown at CenturyLink Field with the Seahawks...) "Yeah, I've always wanted to throw one in this stadium. It's a great fan base, and great crowd. I've played here a couple times, but never thought I'd throw a touchdown here, and they are on my side. So, it was pretty cool."

QB Russell Wilson

(On being in regular season form...)"Yeah, for sure.  I think that our whole football team is.  I think our whole football team is ready to roll and in regular season mode.  We have been practicing at a super high level.  The maturity and the leadership we have across the board on offense, defense and special teams, the energy that we are playing with, the execution…it looks really good.  It has been an exciting time this training camp.  We just take it one game at a time and keep building."
