Featuring postgame quotes from the following:

Head Coach Mike Macdonald

Opening Statement: "Stuck together throughout. Faced some adversity throughout the game. Our defense just deserves a lot of credit, man. They played really hard. Even when they made some unbelievable plays in critical moments, you got to give their quarterback a lot of credit. He made some phenomenal plays under duress. So we just kept fighting, and then you defend a blade of grass at the end of the day. Had an opportunity to win it at the end and guys did a great job."

On putting nine defenders on the line for the final play:

"How do I answer it without giving away like trade secrets? I just think it's something that we been practicing, and we haven't really called it in situations like that. We've versions of blitz that we've called, but not that particular version. So something we've had and we've been preparing for. Our guys were excited about getting to that particular call. Man, I mean, you just call something you haven't executed and it's basically the season is on the line, and just shows, hey, our guys can handle it. They've earned that confidence to call those types of high leverage plays. I know (CB Devon Witherspoon) Spoon was asking for it, so when Spoon is excited about it then we're excited about it."

On blitzing FS Coby Bryant on the last play:

"Yeah. I mean, again, even though -- when you are blitzing a bunch guys, and it is a team blitz mentality so we have to align correctly, got set it up right you have the disguises paired with it. Guys have to take proper angles. To get this quarterback on the ground and make him go backwards is easier said than done There is some technique. Again, in critical moments I think this speaks a lot about the trust we have in our guys that they can go get the job done."

On how long they have 'had that play':

"A version of that has been around forever. This particular version of it went in couple weeks ago."

On CB Riq Woolen getting the final interception 'after what happened last week':

"I was hoping he went down after he caught it. Look, I mean, this is why we have the make-it- right system. You move on and go to the next play. He's been doing that, so happy for Riq making that play. It was a great play."

On if the defense 'fed off of' CB Devon Witherspoon performance:

"Yeah, I mean, this guy is the leader on our -- it's his second year and he's grown so much as a leader and someone we're going to depend on for a long time here. We love him, and it's because of the energy and the competitiveness and the person and his love of the game and love for his teammates. It's infectious. How can you not play 1000% when 21 is on the field doing the stuff that he does? We talk about force multiplier. He's a force multiplier. Happy he got a sack. Wasn't pretty, but he got one, and really happy for him."

If he thought they would kick the field goal at the end:

"Our line was a little bit tighter than that. You have to be ready for a fourth down call, but, you know, you never know if they're going to try one. We had a call ready on a field goal block as well."

On the offense:

"I think we took a step in the right direction in terms of run game and moving the ball, especially early in the game. It was good to get the first drive going, but I think we're going we have to still focus on, hey, let's close the drives out. Once we get this thing moving, let's finish in the end zone. 7 points is such a big difference, especially to start the game. Then when we are playing with a lead, let's try to -- we just got to keep chasing and trying to get to multiple score leads. That is good for our team. That's what we're chasing. Guys battled. Fought hard. Didn't go our way in the second half. Got to give the Bears credit. Thought they played hard, played physical. But, you know, we'll get better from this."

On getting seven sacks:

"I've always said it's a function of rush and coverage, so in order to sack them you got to have the ball, so some sacks were clean where you win, and -- this is a hard quarterback to get on the ground as well so that's good. Some of them are, hey, we do a great job on the back end making him progress through and now you can buy an extra click in your rush. Be fun to watch the tape and show them why those happened. That we're able to create those passing situations on first down, and these are all team stats. I am excited for the guys that got the sacks but will be fun to show them why and who set them up."

On the 'energy and speed' of the team:

"Yeah, going on a short week, on Thursday, and got get your bodies right to go play and go play the right way. You got to be able to play the right way to win in this league. I think this is an opportunity for a shoutout for our support team. (Vice President of Player Performance) Sam Ramsden, (Head Strength & Conditioning Coach) Ivan Lewis and his crew getting those guys -- their bodies right on Monday. That was big for us. Needed that. The guys were determined to go get a win here on the road."

On the fumble returned for a touchdown that was called back:

"In the moment I was really -- what was the term you used? Was I worried? Yes. Pretty consistently worried about stuff."

On the 'strain' this game was for the defense:

"I don't think your mentality changes. In my mind we're playing field position game. If you really want to be critical, we could have done a better job flipping field position for our offense. They were coming out of the well too many times this game. We were fighting an uphill battle offensively. Defensively were getting stops, but around mid-field so they were able to punt them down deep. Didn't affect the ball as much as we would like to. You're being critical there. We played great, but those are the things we're chasing practice. So it's hard to go 90, 80, 90 yards consistently, put points on the board, so that's something that we'll look at and see what we can do better. The mentality is the same."

On LB Uchenna Nwosu getting his first sack:

"Yeah, he was fired up. That was great. If you just pause time and think about the journey that he's been on, it's pretty awesome. Pretty cool."

On 'the anxiety' of Rams game coming up this week:

"Look, I mean, we're in the mode of controlling what we can control. We know what's coming next week. We're going to spend this weekend getting our minds and bodies and spirits right to go play a game. Yeah, we're praying that it's for the division championship."

On CB Josh Jobe health:

"He's going good. Like a patella or something in his knee. Again, you get me on the medical terms, it's like how much time, man? How much time? We'll see. We'll see as it goes. We are fortunate we have an extra couple days to treat him."

On QB Geno Smith's night:

"I thought he started strong. Put the ball in harm's way in the red zone, which we would like to do a better job of that. I'll tell you what, like Geno is battling his tail off right now keeping us together, so we follow his lead. I know the guys on offense are excited we won the game, but we talk about being 12 as one, and they're part of the team too and we won the game. So our expectation is obviously higher than six points, but let's go to work this week and do the best we can to go win. Thursday night's games are funky. It's a short week. It's just feels like there is some weird outcomes this happen. We'll look at the tape and go to work and Geno will be right there leading us."

On DE Leonard Williams:

"He's meant a ton. I gave (NT Jarran Reed) J-Reed the game ball because he's really leading us up front with those guys. It's the edges and the D-line in the same room and really follow J Reed's lead and Leo has done a great job leading them as well. Yeah, I mean, he should be up for all the accolades. I don't know what the awards are out there, but I would give it to him. You know, I mean, he's just a phenomenal player, phenomenal human being. I'm glad he's a Seahawk. Glad he's with us."

On getting extra rest before the next game:

"Yeah, it's nice. We have some positive net rest. That will be good for us. It's about time."

If he will 'be watching' Rams versus Cardinals:

"I'm going to watch every snap. Yeah."

On if he started game planning for this week right after Sunday's game:

"Well, I did. I mean, yeah, yeah. You have to. I mean, it's a function of time and we really felt like if we can give our guys a tight game plan that they knew they could execute at a high level on like -- basically whole game plan in one day. Losing sucks, so let's go back to work. That's what we did."

QB Geno Smith

On his shirt:

"You put me on the spot. Shout out to (member of KISS) Gene Simmons. I wasn't alive when KISS was doing their thing, but do love the shirt. Cool looking shirt."

On his assessment of the offense overall:

"When you score six points, you're going to come away thinking you can do a lot of things better. I really want to say I think we could have been better, but also think we moved the ball well. Very proud of the way we ran the ball. I thought we were effective, efficient in the passing game. Could have used a few more explosive, but they did a good job. Hats off the Bears. They got a talented group on defense, and they made it tough on us. It was raining, inclement weather, but we found a way, and I think that's what matters the most."

On the Bears' defense 'taking away the deep ball':

"They did a good job really trying to take away our explosive pass game and made us check it down. We're okay with that, fine with that. As long as we get the ball into the hands of our playmakers we got guys going to make plays. Hats to them like I said. They did a great job really stopping us when it mattered the most. We were crossing the 50 a bunch and then we would just stall out once we get near the red zone. I think that's something we can improve on, especially from this game."

On 'what went through his mind' when Seahawks TE Pharaoh Brown fumbled:

"That was an interesting one. I didn't get the full view of it but I did see Pharoah. He's a tough dude, man, and going to try and run five, six people over if he can. I thought he got down. Again, didn't get the full view so I won't say much on that front. I feel like he was down. Also heard a whistle blow and then I saw the ball in the other guy's hand and he's running down the field. It was just a different situation there. Luckily able to get out of that."

On 'if he knew the touchdown would be overturned;:

"I was sitting there talking to one of the referees. One guy said he had him down. The other guy said he didn't have him down. Pretty sure they went to replay review at that point. I was just confused. I thought he was down. I obviously didn't know what the situation was as far as what they were going to call until they did. Like I said it was just a blessing that our defense went out and stopped them and we were able to get out of that."

On former Seahawks Head Coach Pete Carroll:

"Coach Carroll, man, is a special human being. He's a believer. He's a guy always going to be upbeat. He's always going to fight, and he has one way about him. That's what I love about him. I think we're very much the same in that way. We just go. There is no stop. There is no nothing like that. Just believe in us and just go. Coach Carroll can help out any team and anybody. I'm a big advocate of his, and I know he is of mine. I love that guy."

On confidence within the offense:

"We're confident. We have (WR) DK Metcalf, (WR) Tyler Lockett, (WR) Jaxon Smith-Njigba, (TE) Noah Fant. We got running backs out the wazzu. We got guys, man, and that's what gives us confidence. Our coaching staff is spectacular. They put us in position to make plays. Again, man, it's a week-to-week league. It's not always going to be sunshine and rainbows. Gutting out a 6 to 3 win feels just as good as winning the Game 44 to 41. It's all good getting wins. I have the utmost confidence in my guys, the guys up front, our defenses, coaching staff, the entire organization. It's a big game coming up. We all know that. We're going to stick to our process and get ready for another week of preparation.

On the defense's performance:

"Outstanding. Outstanding. Those are the things we expect of those guys. Like I said, they got so many guys on that side the ball. We just saw (DL Jarran Reed) J Reed. Been playing out of his mind. (DL Leonard Williams) Leo wrecking games. Getting (LB) Uchenna (Nwosu) back, man, he got his first sack after a year and a half of battling injuries. Just the secondary with (DB Devon Witherspoon) 'Spoon and (DB Riq) Woolen and the way (DB) Coby Bryant is playing, the way (DB Julian) J Love is leading that bunch. Just so many guys we can aim, and that's something that gives us confidence."

On 'getting the run game going':

"Yeah, for sure. We want to run the ball even if there is a heavy box. We got to run the ball and commit to. That is something we been, again, working on all season, committing to the run game and finding answers versus what looks they give us. Today they were playing a little shell, but also some three-weak. Some things we are working through. When we can get the run game rolling that's going to make our offense that much tougher to defend."

On 'the run game helping play-action':

"I think it helps it out a lot, man. I noticed the backers were being more affected by the play- action the better we were running. Like I said, the more we stay balanced. I thought (Offensive Coordinator Ryan) Grubb called a great game. He dialed up some shots when he needed to and gave us a chance to be balanced. When (RB) Zach (Charbonnet) is running like that (RB) Kenny McIntosh came in and ran the ball well, we're going to be a tough team. Like I said, we got to get better. There were things that we left out there on the field in my opinion. We want to work on those things."

On 'short rest into Thursday night games' and the implications:

"For sure. Defense only has a couple calls anyway they got to work on. You know, offense, man, we lose hours and hours of game planning. We're facing a Chicago team not in our division so we're not going to know these guys as well as the teams we play a lot. There will be some difficulties, but like I said, it's the pros and our coaches did a phenomenal job with the game plan. I thought the game plan was awesome. We had opportunities and just one or two plays here where we didn't execute that really held us back."

On if members of the team will watch the Rams' game on Saturday night together:

"Honestly, we shouldn't be in this position. That's the main thing. Understanding that we got to control our destiny when we can, yeah, I'm going to be a big (Cardinals QB) Kyler Murray fan on Saturday. If they get it done they get it done. We're going to go into the last week of the season with the same mindset no matter what."

On mental preparation this week:

"It's tough to get ready for a game with seven days rest. Just think about just having three days and coming off the injury that I had and then playing a tough game and then coming right back. We knew it was going to be something that we had to it gut out. I'm not the only guy who's out there feeling something. There are other guys pushing through some things. That's why we have the team that we have. We got a bunch of tough guys on our side, guys who love to play and love to play for their teammates. I think that's something that's just -- you got to fight through it. It was good to get it done today."

On his leadership:

"Hopefully they feed off it. Again, this is the pros and guys got to do their jobs. We love playing football, like I said. We love playing alongside each other. That's the reason you see guys out there the way they are."
