Chris Matthews. Remember the name? Started the afternoon as the fifth receiver on the depth chart and ended his day by recovering the biggest onside kick in team history. His recover gave the Seahawks the ball near midfield with just over two minutes left and trailing by five points.
Seattle's Chris Matthews, who was listed on the team's practice squad until December, made his mark on Super Bowl XLIX with a number of spectacular catches including this 44-yard catch in the second quarter which also marked his first catch in the N.F.L. and set up the Seahawks first touchdown.
Chris Matthews leaps high and catches the Seahawks second touchdown of the game but the first in his N.F.L. career to tie the game at 14-14 just before halftime.
