August, 14 – "I want to be a role model to the younger generation showing them how to manage money instead of wasting it on the first day to support each other instead of tearing each other down. To show them how to be kings."

Brandon, 16 – "I look up to Malcolm X because he showed me the value of education and how you can be negatively affected if you're uneducated. He also taught not to turn the other cheek all the time. and stand up for yourself."

Chukundi, 15 – "I want to allow more resources for black men to express themselves besides the obvious basketball and sports route but other ways to expand diversity in fields like medical."

Daniel, 13 – "When I'm older I want to make it in the NFL not only to help my family but to help people who don't have much."

David, 12 – "I look up to my mom. She is the strongest and most compassionate person I know."

Dre, 12 – "I will always be helping others doing the best they can and I plan to become an athlete with my own business which I will use to fight for justice and help with people who are struggling mentally and or financially."

Kenyon – "I either want to be a paramedic or therapist. I will also continue to speak out and spread information about the recovery and mental health."

Kevin – "Joining Kingmakers is my great achievement. Before I joined the program my grades were bad and now I'm doing better in school and better at home."

Marcel, 14 – "I look up to my big cousin Will, because he works really hard and creates opportunities and paths for people who need it. I just really appreciate him being a black man that shows me great example of life."

Niko, 13 – "I will try my hardest to help out the environment, such as leading movements to reduce pollution. I also want to become someone who fights for civil rights, and I think I could speak out and help people."

Ocean, 15 – "My favorite characteristic about my self is that I am athletic, competitive and I love to challenge my self with hard tasks because I went through a lot and I know I can handle anything I put my mind to."

Tijar, 14 – "My greatest achievement is joining AAMA SLC, because in this group I feel welcomed and praised for my differences, and also being able to talk about my experiences as a black man, and making change for black students or people just like me."

Trevon, 16 – "I look up to Mr. Walton. He was my 8th grade king makers teacher, the reason why I look up to him so much is because he came from a struggle when he was younger, and now he's giving back to young kids. Also he stands up for what he believes in. That's why I look up to him."
